Fingers crossed that you enjoy Rebellion, Rah! We'll be here should you need to air your head after. :3 Not going to say anything that might color your head towards it so I'll just shhhh on the matter til you're done.
I finished 11 of SnK earlier. I'm going to miss this current opening theme once it's gone. I'll probably end up scooting to the manga once I finally finish the first season and see how the differences go. As of right now I'd have to say Armin and Mikasa are my favorites, though Sim's other husband does run a chance at worming his way onto that list as well. X3
I have many husbands, I assume you mean my gorgeous Levi? xD And yeah the manga is brilliant. Though I'd say the 'reveals' are done poorly, the rest makes up for it.
I mean, god, still can't get that charge out of my head xD
P.S - Geth, JoJo is JoJo it exists outside the realm of anything.
Not a fan of the manga so much lately, at least all the politics stuff is kinda mind numbing tbh. I don't think the mangaka captures human conflict very well. That's been an issue for me since the beginning whenever they get into the whole wall rose vs peasants, MP vs survey corps, etc. But it stayed in the background more...
Sim: I do mean Levi! X3 Suppose it should have been other other other husband then! Ahhh the harem you run. I'm saving the "special" episodes until I'm done with the season just to be safe, even though I'm sure I could look up where they're supposed to fall and such. Isi's already told me about one difference:
Spoiler
The fact that Eren has full control over his Titan form in the manga whereas he's kind of just a beserker in the anime
Aside from that I don't really know just what will be different. It's still kind of amusing to me since I admit I was slow going with the series for a while there and now that it finally got my attention, I'm quite happy to make a good amount of progress on it.
ETA: I'll keep that in mind then Puddi. That's actually something I was thinking about, how certain intensities might not play out *quite* as well in written form compared to spoken. Armin's justification speech in 10 was pretty amazing if I say so myself, so I'm just wondering (firstly if it happens the same in the manga of course) how that moment will feel when written.
Me and a friend watched a bunch of Baccano. We stopped on episode 8.
It's good... No, it's better then good, it's actually great! The storytelling style is different and takes a bit of getting use to but once your a bit more familiar with it then it works in the shows favor (I'd actually call it one of the shows main drawing points)

One of the reveals in the manga (I suspect you know which one) I actually thought was a joke or something by the people translating just due to how out of nowhere and wtf it is (the twist was actually fine, but the execution was just sloppy as hell)
It's like things start calming down and a character randomly walks up to another and goes "btw.... MAJOR PLOT TWIST!!!!!?>!sgFFGSJDGSJ"
If the series made me uncertain on what to say then that's nothing on what Rebellion did. Might aswell start of where i'll just gush and make very gush-like things. 10/10, would buy cake for everyone that worked on it! Joke aside they all did a fabulous job with Rebellion!
Absolutely loved it, everything about it was exactly how i could possibly dream that it would be. I got more Kyuko so how could i not love it? That aside everything else is equally worthy of being described as heavenly awesome and it's rare for me to sitt through 2 hour movies without losing concentration at some point, but never with Rebellion. Tea time with Mami, YES! Kickass scenes with Kyuko and Miki? YES! Madoka being utterly adorable in her genuine niceness? YES! Homura carrying the universe on her shoulder? YES! All these parts were there and they all felt just right. The amazing soundtrack didn't disappoint either and kept the level that i came to love from the series. The art is just woah and can best be described as such.
The storyline is probably what suprised me the most about how complex it was and that i could always have a guess what would happen next but never know for sure and chessus if Homura didn't make that point absolutely clear towards the end. That came from more than just out of nowhere and i love it for that. I find her "sacrifice" for the others but easily mostly for Madoka's sake beautiful and possibly very tragic if events go a certain way. It takes incredible strength to do what Homura did and i might never entierly understand her and what she do, i can at least always count on her protecting Madoka at all costs. Thank you Homura for bringing Kyuko back to me

Good man! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! I love the series to death but TRS is on a whole different level for me.
Sec I can dig up a couple of my old book posts and share those with you if you care enough to read through them Ani also had some wonderful notes on the series worth checking out too.

Totally! Can always read about a topic that i love and even more so when it's from pals!
I have SnK paused to come on in and say that your reaction made me so very happy Rah. :') I'll spare the five hour book right now since I'm juggling the other series as I said but still... *one hug ticket redeeeeemed* I still have the bigger of my gushing books saved if you feel like dealing with 4,000 words worth of fangirling after the last time Isi and I re-watched the series and Rebellion. I'd send it to you of course that way I'm not hoarding space here again. But yes, brightened my night as it usually does whenever someone walks away from Rebellion feeling pleased.
Welcome to our cult, brother Rah. It's a pretty wonderful place here. Okay! Back to SnK for me, I'll be back later as I want to try and finish up this current story arc this evening.

Honestly, if/when season 2 of the anime comes out, I really hope they take some editorial discretion with the way that reveal plays out, haha... so bad.
http://forum.bioware...thread/page-447 had a couple of mine and Ani's initial posts on TRS (Posts # 11157, 11161, 11172) I think you will come to understand *very* quickly why I'm known for being an obsessive fanboy with this series

Hehe, always a highlight of anyday when i can join a cult. They are always so welcoming!
Like i said to Isi, i'll totally read everything that is sent to me, i might even write deeper thoughts and more well explained thoughts later down the line when i'm not on the prettiest and most awesome cloud of them all

@Isi
Arigatou! Will be a blast to read it all
Would you like me to link it all then? There's seriously a lot of it
So I'm up to speed with Shokugeki no Soma -- btw --
"This is a cooking manga."
But now that I have to wait for the (gourmet) cereal, I kinda want something new to read. Even though I my list of anime to watch is approaching Mount Everest and I don't even have a list of manga to read. Ones I remember being discussed... uhh... Seven Deadly Sins or Terra Formars? Any good?
Seven Deadly Sins is a pretty fun adventure manga so yes it's good.
Terra Formars is like Attack on Titan only with super cockroaches instead of titans.
Well that's not really true but that's my way of saying it's good. And it does have some nice fight scenes. Bug/animal powers are always a thing I like.
Would you like me to link it all then? There's seriously a lot of it
Hehe, that sounds awesome, a lot of text about something as special as PMMM can never really be too much. That said it's probably best i don't try to read everything at the same time, i might be crazy but death by awesome is not nearly as good way to go now when i've found my love for PMMM.
Did read the first few posts now over morning coffee and will continue after i've run a few miles, might think a little aswell on what i actually saw and what actually happened. Love it! Love having to poke at what i recall and see if it's made up or real
A bit of coffee, some running and an insane amount of pondering and i think i'm emotionally and mentally capable of at least making shorter pieces of text about some subjects. Will absolutely write essays and all that later down the line but that wont be right now. It does take a bit of time just wraping the mind around ONE event and the series and TRS do have an almost unlimited amount of events.
Spoiler
Naturally most of my thinking has been around Homura. A lot has been about Kyoko and in some extent Sayaka but i feel i'm more "certain" on what i feel there than about Homura. Can't really say i've had one character absolutely bombard my mind like she has, everything about her and everything she does leads to more questions and for that i can only love her. She's that amazing and i will always appreciate characters screwing with my mind and emotions like that until i can't say what's white or black, up or down, future or past. Gen Urobuchi you insanely amazing and slightly crazy person
Alright the one event this post can be dedicated to besides gushing is Homura suprising me so completely that if anyone could see me at the moment where i realised what was happening they'd see one very impressive O___O expression. The event is "Caught you!" Where to start when talking about this event is almost impossible to decide but i might aswell start on how i view her actions. I see them as entierly justified and actually not evil. To understand why she did what she did one has to actually understand a few essential parts of Homura. Her wish to protect Madoka at all costs, her love for Madoka and also the component that make Homura go from at all costs to pretty much beyond that is that she has suffered more than anyone has in the universe. Failure is never pleasant and a failure that involves the one you care the most about dying or suffering? That can break anyone but Homura is an incredibly strong person so she persists. However not even someone as strong as Homura can continue forever without getting affected and what she does is that instead of giving into despair so "early" she instead attach herself even further into her mission to save Madoka that it really becomes everything for her. Nothing else matters and that insane love she has for Madoka added to that makes any course of action feasible from Homura. What i'm in essence saying is that anyone that dare to say that was OOC i will personally beat up with a book.
I also do get caught on one line from Homura that i keep repeating for myself and the more i do so the more sense it make. Emotions are personal and one persons emotions are unique."It's only natural that you don't understand. Yes... No one in the world could possibly understand. This emotion is mine alone. It is for Madoka alone." That is so true and realising that is almost painful because to understand what she say there i had to understand her and it will always be painful for me to see someone suffer like she has, and all she suffered through she managed to survive for Madoka. Love is passion, love can be despair. Someone that has tried 100 times with love and care as her main motivation, that person is someone that will rip the universe apart if they have to. Homura Akemi, i would have done nothing different from you if i had been in your position. Being able to say that is quite awesome, she really did what she wanted to do after all that pain.
That scene can be tackled on so many levels and i intend to do so and write about it but i might actually break my own mind if i try to do it all at once, Isichar and Anima got any glue? I need to glue my mind together a bit before it slip entierly.
It definitely takes some time to wrap your head around everything. There's a lot of subtlety to the series that can initially be missed. I've watched the series multiple times and I still notice a lot of new things with every viewing. Take some time to think about it and if you have any thoughts feel free to share them! I'm all for Madoka gushing I'll write up a proper response to your post when I get home from work later today but just know I am reading your comments.

There you go bro, glad you enjoyed it :-)

Yup. Agreed.
If it's as if Darth Vader said "oh btw, I'm your dad, just thought you should know that lol"
xD

I haven't read the manga before it left it off in the anime so I wouldn't know about that but I suppose he's right, Isi ain't gonna tell fibs
And yes, Levi is my husband (one of many.)
Just look how hand he is in the house, perfect house-husband. But I'm afraid if he gets too close to Madoka's dad they'll fall in love and run away.
Pssst! Everybody forgets about papa Madoka xD
Honestly, if/when season 2 of the anime comes out, I really hope they take some editorial discretion with the way that reveal plays out, haha... so bad.
Yeah, that part definitely needs work. I wonder if the mangaka was like balls away from his deadline (Bakuman + Himoru Arakawa's quotes in my FMA manga has taught me it's no fun to do that job xD)
Speaking of manga, I just go paid.
So I have a choice for....
Death Note Black Edition
Ouran Highschool Hostclub
Bakuman
Wanna go for completed manga that I've read for now. Perhaps I'll just go for the cheapest
how long was she after Madoka? Poor girl, I agree with Rah and anybody else who says it's NOT OOC. She's been to hell and back, then kicked down again just to make her way up and realise she took the wrong left and has to go all the way down again xD There are no words for the despair she must feel.
Hopefully this will make sense. Coffee is trying to wake me up and end of the week blah is happening to my brain...
Sim:
Spoiler
Interviews with Gen have said that including the timelines we didn't see in the series, she's been living through 100+ failed attempts to save Madoka.
Rah:
Spoiler
Ahhhh dear dear Rah. you too have fallen to the wonderful mind explosive that Isi and I call the caught you scene. X3 The funny thing there for me is that I personally had a little bit of that spoiled before seeing TRS. Long recap short: Tumblr spoiled Homucifer for me shortly after the movie hit theaters, then months later the blu ray trailer for TRS spoiled that the caught you scene happens. Mind you I watched that trailer at least a million times so it's kind of my fault but even that didn't prepare me for just how amazing the scene was going to be. What's amusing most to me is that in that amazing moment, she split the fanbase pretty hard. Those that understand her way of thinking and don't view it as evil despite what she herself says (cause let's face it, in this new universe everyone is alive and Madoka stands a chance to finally live a normal life and then those that think she's a horrible human being. Yes her choice undermined Madoka's last wish but can you actually blame Homura? My five hour speech that I'll find you at some point brings up what I think is one of the most important things to remember when thinking in retrospect about that scene: The point in the series where Madoka and Junko are talking about making a mistake for someone, and how they might not understand that it's for the best immediately.
As for me and my progress through SnK, I finished the first arc last night as expected. I'm not sure I'll watch 13.5 cause the preview makes it sound like a recap episode and well... Where's Senketsu when we need him. Overall I very much enjoyed the first arc quite a bit. It certainly took some time to get me really involved with it but I can say with confidence now that 6 is where it officially got me (and for the record that's currently one of my favorite episodes so far). I'm looking forward to seeing where things go from here. Erwin posed something near the end of 13 that made my brain !!! a bit
Spoiler
The fact that the armored and colossus Titans seem to be like Eren in his Titan form, so that means someone is 'driving' them. To which I say: Holy ****. o_o
I'll more than likely be making more progress today so it should be fun to see what the second half of the season is like.
I already asked Isi if I could commission an episode that's just Mikasa and Levi going to town on Titans. I think it'd be one of the best things ever. *_*
