So I saw the first episode of PMMM. One hell of an intro, and you can tell it has a Deal With The Devil vibe to it. The setting moves wildly between the high school shtick and the more supernatural. I've seen GIFs of Kyubey, and now I know him a bit too well...

As one of the primary antagonists in the series, Iwakami stated that "the mash-up of cuteness and darkness is the central theme to Madoka, and Kyubey is an epitome of that theme."

The bits near the end leave plenty of unanswered questions as well.

Okay, fine, anime fans. You Win. ( ._.メ)

I checked out a bit of TFS' SnK Abridged last night! Well okay, just one episode since that's all they've done so far. I'm hoping there will be more cause they really had me rolling at certain points.

Ha ha, unnecessary vulgarity aside. It's a great series/manga. Along wit' shows like: One Piece, Full Metal, InuYasha, some o' the Gundam series (I've always found Master Asia hilarious!), Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, FLCL, Big O, Bleach, Naruto, Baccano, S Cry Ed, Blassreiter, Guin Saga, even Tekkaman, oh and Ultimate Muscle, Shaman King, and the Devil May Cry anime (Capcom, give us back our sons!).

Super ultimate main point:
I love violence, and don't mind spiky hair!

I thought the AoT abridge before TFS was decent. TFS seems to overuse annoying voices as the joke.

PMMM, lets tackle another topic!

Did mention that i would at least touche upon this topic quite early. It's of course about Sayaka and Kyoko! I mean this topic does involve my favorite character so of course i'll talk about it and most likely gush a lot and maybe even write a novel or two or why not five novels! What strikes me first about these two characters and their interactions through both the series and the movie is that the viewer got room for interpretation on just what kind of relationship they do have. Is it a normal friendship? Is it romantic? Or are they just two girls that will form the most awesome friendship ever? Depending on how you view certain actions i'd say that all avenues are open. Now what do i believe about them. I'm actually alternating between BFFs and something more. For me they are so much more than a normal friendship and that they have one really beautiful chemistry between them. Their differences and what they have common with each other merge really well and just give their relationship so much more power than a normal one. Sayaka with her knightly attitude and willingness to protect everyone that she possibly can coupled with Kyoko's a bit pragmatic view on things really worked much better than i had expected it would. They compliment each other very well and bring forward the best in both of them. Sayaka reminding Kyoko about why she did become a Puella magi to start with and Kyoko being there for Sayaka when the more harsh nature of being a Puella magi became painfully clear. It's very clear that they both do care about each other and Kyoko very much see at least part of her in Sayaka. She's kinda a bit like a big sister in some parts, watching over Sayaka. She might be pragmatic but she's still a savior!

 

Their relationship got a lot of promise in it and even more so for the future depending on what might happen. Right now i see them as very good friends that really do care a lot about the other. At least where Rebellion ended i'd say that despite them knowing each other for such a short while that they've connected very well and that they'll absolutely take a burger together and really have a fantastic time with each other and considering Kyoko i do very much believe that she will get them into some situations where Sayaka's more noble nature might be very useful. Just imagining all the insane stuff they'll get themself into is adorable enough to make me squee! I will absolutely re-visit this topic, it's after all a very much developing topic and by each day i realise something new that will need some thinking. Good chessus i love you PMMM and thank you for Kyoko!

In the original TV series Kyouko see's Sayaka making the same mistakes that she made as when she first became a magical girl (trying to make a wish for others) what's funny is as the series goes on we get to see her bend over backwards to try and help Sayaka which is something that was very unusual for Kyouko from when she was first introduced. She goes from been someone who was perfectly fine with letting the familiars eat people just so they could grow into witches and she could get the grief seed to sacrificing her life for the sake of another person. The reason for this is I think Sayaka reminded her of just how far she had fallen as a magical girls and how much she use to love the stories where good triumphed over evil and love prevailed in the end.

 

I should probably note they have a lot of imagery together throughout the series too.

This represents both of them in witch form

 

And then you got the classic

 

They make a cute couple and I do love the dynamic quite a bit. If theres one thing good about TRS it's how it sort of gives them both a bit of a happy ending which was not possible in the TV series. I am glad that the movie addressed that the two did have a relationship/bond whether it was romantic or not.

I'm totally with you about Sayaka reminding Kyoko about why she became a Puella magi to begin with and what kind of person she was at the start. Perhaps it's not entierly possible for Kyoko to be the same person as then but we've had plenty of proof that the pragmatic Kyoko goes out of her way to protect and help someone which is not what we would have believed from her to begin with. It's all Sayaka's doing and her noble nature really do both characters good in the character development section. As i've come to notice that once one try to think about on of the girls you always end up with the other in there aswell. They are what i've kinda come to see as two sides of the same coin. Fire/Ice, red/blue and a few other examples. They both help each other through their actions and beliefs to adapt to their situation. Sayaka with melting a bit of Kyoko's very hard nature and Kyoko with hardening a little bit of Sayaka so that she doesn't get swallowed entierly by the bad sides. Every scene that had both of them in it can only be considered a masterpiece because these two characters are just remarkable and their relationship is awe inspiring! Really happy that Rebellion gave us and them a quite satisfactory end point in their stories as they are now.

The voices are generally exagerrated renditions of the actual character's voice, given that this anime didn't have a dub previously, it's a play on their personality or highly suspect tropes, which I thought was excellent. The voice acting is top notch, my favorite in this abridge has to be the Drill Sergeant, Mikasa & that Potato girl voiced by Nowacking.

Haven't seen the one you mentioned and don't honestly care. I was talking about TFS and the fact that you can always expect quality from them which hasn't been proven untrue so far. Hellsing Abridge being another excellent little side project -- Oh, and the lastest DBZ flick

That image is the perfect example on how things change daily for me. Always something new that appear that i didn't think about or something that i had not given proper attention. That is just so very squee-worthy that i might just burst! So incredibly awesome and genius!

What lend them both credit is also that while Sayaka is noble she's not the noblest of all noble things in the universe and Kyoko while pragmatic isn't the most pragmatic thing either. They are reasonable, they're flawed and they are developing.

The more i think about how alike yet very different they are the more i love them both. They really do both have so many interesting traits and when they are together i'm doubting that anything really can stand in their way. Ice and fire together is a very potent and beautiful combo and poor whatever that stand in their way for it wont for long!
