GOD is LOTGH amazing. It's like I'm not watching an anime at all. All the usual stuff you see in one, from fanservice, to cartoony humour and people blushing are out the window. It's the most serious anime I've seen outside Ghost in the Shell and considering the sheer scale of it, I have NO idea how it's going to end. I hope it's consistent all the way through, the last thing I'd want is for this to turn to Star Wars.
Once I finish Binbougami ga! I'll head to the Vagabond series, or maybe another one with political intrigue. That, plys LOTGH and reading Accursed Kings at the same time...
Yep, it's intrigue heaven. All I'd need to do is play the Witcher 2 and I'm set for the next ten years xD
P.S
Took me 5 goes to get out of that Cake Song. Seriously, that's a record. I usually do at least 10 rounds before I'm done xD
PP.S Maybe the Vinland Saga - manga I mean. Apparently it's Vikings + intrigue. How could I say no to that?

I don't get it
I don't know why we don't ship a rivalmance...
I mean, I'm the L guy and you seem to like Light.
Wanna write Yaoi with me?
Okay, enough nonsense. If you don't get, basically read the anonymous post he/she's using xD "You can't just slap AoT's opening on anything." - Well, YES YOU F*CKING CAN!
GOD is LOTGH amazing.
Told ya so.
So I finished up Akuma no Riddle.
It was incredibly average to be perfectly honest. There's not much I can really say makes this a must watch or high recommendation from me (beyond maybe the OST which was pretty amazing) the story and characters just didn't do it for me. I never became invested or really interested in what was going on in the story, nor did it alienate me too much, it was sort of just there. The one thing that did bother me at some points was just how contrived it could become at certain points. The main premise is that a girl is in a classroom full of assassins that are trying to kill her, and whoever manages to will get whatever they desire most. Each assassin gets their own episode (with a couple exceptions) and their own back story/story arc which admittedly is a sort of interesting idea but it never feels entirely well fleshed out or executed. The girl who they are trying to murder doesn't have any special powers (sort of...) nor is she particularly intelligent about the situation despite knowing the entire class is trying to kill her, tbh she should have died 1000 times over before the end if a single one of these assassins actually had any idea of what they were doing. Like one assassin was basically a terminator with unlimited funds who had months to prepare and she ends up failing in such a spectacularly pathetic and nonsensical way that I just couldn't even find it believable. There's a point and clear theme to the story, and a sort of twist at the end but it lacked any emotional investment in the series to make those worthwhile for me.
Tbh the anime could have made fun of itself a lot over how contrived it got but instead it takes itself a bit too seriously.
The action was OK, but nowhere near as good as what I've come to expect from my more action filled animes like Fate/Zero. Some of the roundabout fighting styles some of the people used confused me a little. The assassins have to give the one girl a letter saying her life is in danger before they attack her, but other then that they could do whatever they wanted, so why one doesn't just walk up to her, drop the note on the desk and lets say just stab her in the heart or shoot her in the head was beyond me. One of the assassins stuck a bomb around her neck with a deactivation code and gave her an afternoon to try and find out the code to disarm it, if this was a real assassin they wouldn't have even given her a chance to do that (admittedly this was also one of the better assassins too)
The romance aspect didn't grab me at all. There was some interesting points in it but otherwise like the characters I just never became invested in seeing these 2 characters together, nor did I find either more then mildly interesting.
I was hoping for a bit more going into this tbh, I really wanted to like it and I tried harder then I should but at the end of the day it's merely watchable. At least I can download and gush over the amazing OST.
6/10
Now time to finish up One Week Friends. This one really did surprise me and will more then likely end up getting a higher score and a more solid recommendation from me but I'll write something up once I finish. It's the sort of one I'd recommend to someone like Sim, my emotions bro.

Now excuse me, I have some Sim/Lotion fanfics to go write.

Akuma no Riddle
I haven't seen Future Diary yet so I can't comment. I doubt it will ever get nearly as much attention as Future Diary did though.
Ooh I have one week friends on my to do list it's in position number 19. Yeah it's gon be a while.
Popping up to say I'm glad to hear you're enjoying LotGH so much Sim! It's been on my list for about two or so years now but the episode count did seem a touch daunting.
I'm a sucker for proper space operas though so I'll do it eventually for sure. Maybe I'll just work around eventually rewatching Galaxy Express 999 (
) and line LotGH up with it.

At least it's on your list. This is probably one show that will fly under most peoples radars.

I'll add it to the list. Got to finish the ones I already started (One Week Friends, Baccano and Utena). After that I told Geth I'd give the One Piece manga a shot and I still need to watch Once Upon a Time since I told LP I would if he watched PMMM so I have a bit of stuff to work on. Maybe after all of those are finished...

I intended to get to One Week Friends and Nanana before they finished, guess that didn't pan out. Now they are on the infinite list of finished seasons to get to sometime-or-other.
Goddamn it. So thats Mirai nikki and LotGH on the list.
Technically OWF isn't finished yet (or maybe it is in Japan but not here) the final episode is set to air on CR in about 17 hours, but I know what you mean, I have so many ongoing ones I intended to watch that just never ended up happening.
Found a way to move past PMMM! Found it in ongoing animes that i've been following. Funny enough it was Mekakucity Actors that returned it to me and Of course it was the anime that have been confusing me the most lately. Apparently blown mind plus confusion set things right.. or i might just be crazy, that's absolutely a real possibility.

Mind you it's slow, but I don't think anyone will have a problem with that. The pacing is brilliant though :-)
@Isi
Good, that's one anime I won't have listed xD - there are just too many for me to start watching 'meh' stuff. Our tastes seem to be the same, so if you didn't like it that much, neither will I...
But Mirrai Nikki is just briliant xD it has this thing to it that'll keep you watching.
And Akise Aru is the sexiest mofo alive aside from Mustang and L xD
Remember though, the main protagonist is about as likeable as a needle through the p-hole.
So log horizon is pretty cool.

I'm getting a FMAB vibe from LotGH, meaning that every time I watch an episode, I like it that much more. Holy sh*t have I found something that can match my love for FMAB?
Just checked the prices for the anime blu-ray set.
It's over 600 dollars...
I hope when I go to Japan I'll find it there a lot cheaper. I don't mind paying 100 dollars, or even 200, but ffs, 600+ is like... damn.
Well, it is 110-118 episodes (not counting all the extras). That's a lot of CD's...or DVD's

But you gotta admit it's freaking overkill.
I got the entire collection of Friends which has roughly the same amount of episodes for 60 quid. Thing is, LOTGH is old, so that's why it's probably that expensive.
Oh, and also the entire collection of David Suchet's Poirot too for 100 quid.

P.S Just last night I was watching the Murder on the Orient Express for the billionth time. It amazes me just how great an actor he is. That climax was executed PERFECTLY.

I am listing to this everyday, pretty good OP and damn I gotta re-watch it. ![]()
