After finishing Baccano i obviously end in the same spot as always when trying to pick a new anime to watch. I rather not go with all the amazing animes in a row but i might do that this time around and go with Death Note unless i find something else that can come inbetween. Angel Beats! do look interesting, might take a look at it before giving up and going with Death Note. Might still feel the effects of PMMM making it harder to be interested in some animes than i otherwise would. *shakes fists* Gen Urobuchi for making me feel like this!
For the 2nd anime i might go with the anime Puddi mentioned, it sound interesting enough, if not i got a 20 or so light hearted animes to pick from. That source is endless and without a doubt much easier to pick from.

I made the point of addressing that its issues don't ultimately mean it'd miss out on a recommendation. Its female characters are quite nice, and the occasional drama is done well enough to keep us watching for more. I didn't expect to watch as much of it as I did but it ultimately turned out okay. So, yeah, I think that about sums it up.
Oh, and the dub, minus the main character, is actually quite good btw.
Sure, I will check it out eventually :-) but it's always good to hear an opinion from others. I just thought I'd conclude with my own thoughts.
And it's great that the dub is good. After Gintama, LOTGH and PMMM it'll be nice to hear dubbed again ![]()

@Rah
Ooh, which one? Nagi no Asukara or Kyousougiga both would make me pretty happy. Or Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, which I haven't watched but that's cool too, lol.
I just love the setting of Kyousougiga though.

So I've finally decided I like Yang better simply because I enjoy him more as a personality. I think Reinhard is a far more tragic character though. Enjoy them both immensely.
P.S Yang x Greenhill

@Bro!
I really do want to watch Death Note, might sneak Angel Beats in before to spread them legends apart a little bit! But i will totally watch Death Note within the next few weeks, been putting it off for far too long now!
@Puddi!
Probably Sakurasou no Pet Na Kanojo but the other two are quite tempting aswell, i mean that image is pretty flippin awesome!

Getting paid tomorrow...
Gonna have to either choose between manga or two dvd box sets cos I gotta save the rest of mah sh*t.
If it's a box set, I'm gonna get Samurai Champloo + the second season of FMAB.
If it's manga then it's Ouran Highschool Hostclub cos I love that stuff too much. My oestrogen levels kick the crap out of my high testosterone at the sight of TamakixHaruhi crap.

With the last episode of Chaika watched i'm quite entertained on how it all went. Things were set-up very well for the last episode and the episode didn't disappoint at all. I'd almost say it's one of the better ones in Chaika with so much happening in such short time. It had quite a few moments that i didn't anticipate and if you click on Liamv2's link at the top of the page you will find one of those moments, just don't spoil yourself by clicking if you intend to watch Chaika at some point. Overall i did enjoy watching Chaika even during it's slow periods that were somewhat frequent in the middle of the series when the story didn't really progress all that much. Great start and really awesome last 2 episodes is what i'd say Chaika was. The middle while slow were never bad or weak but average or sometimes good. Overall the story is interesting and when put into focus do have some promise to become even better. The anime got some interesting quirks and traits that it really did try to utilize and a lot of them rest with Chaika herself, she looks one way but she can act more than what you'd think. The other characters on the anime are all generally well done, might even say that one of them is very well done but they need more time to develop to become memorable enough but the potential is there.
The art style and colours used in Chaika didn't impress me at the start but it did grow on me and now i can say that i quite like them even if they are not as awesome to me as the ones in No Game No Life.
Would i recommend it? I'd say yes after the last episode i can do that. Wasn't entierly sure that i would do it a few episodes ago but Chaika did gain on me in the end and is worthy of a try at some point. Not an anime that needs to be seen RIGHT NOW but it would be a shame to miss it completely

Episode 34 was just bloody fantastic. LOTGH is just... there are no words. Right now only the Emprie seem to have great Admirals whilst the Alliance has Meer and Yang. But god, Yang can pull off some amazing sh*t. Lelouch liked to use his surroundings to his advantage, but in space, all you have his strategy, so Yang totally kicks his ass in that apartment.
Also, I take back what I said. Yang is equally tragic. To do what he hates in order to protect that which he loves. I also love him because despite his ideals, he does what is necessary to win. The ends don't necessarily justify the means; it's just that sometimes, those ends are unavoidable and he carries that burden with him. Reinhard, though sad, is just being broody at the moment. But that being said, IF Julian died, would Yang react in the same way? Someone he loved already did, and Yang toughed it up, but Julian is like his son.
Still, got PLENTY to go. I have no idea where this show will go, but I'm hoping for the best climax I've seen since FMAB.

It does put an interesting twist on how it viewed everything objectively since it basically just ignored the effect the emotions could potentially have.
And I agree, very unique and well handled character. It was admittedly one of my favorites in my original viewing.
Sooooooooooooo someone needs to watch Shin Sekai Yori. It seriously has one of the most satisfying and thought provoking ending's I've ever seen. Just as I describe emotional animes on a scale of 1-Clannad, I would describe satisfying endings on a scale of ME3-SSY. It causes me great pain to see such a well crafted story be so under-appreciated! As much as I love PMMM to death I've managed to get over a dozen people to watch it, SSY I have only ever met a handful of people that have seen it but they all seem to agree that it is amazing (Ani understands perfectly)

Hmm, I read what happens at the end of SSY and didn't like the sound of it. (don't worry, I've forgotten what it was already
)
But maybe the novel or manga don't end the same way the anime does.

I'd be extremely curious to know what you didn't like about it tbh, since I do consider it to be a storytelling masterpiece. Eh different opinions I guess..
It could possibly be because you just read up on it instead of watching the series?
P.S. Avoid the manga like the plague. It pretty much turns into an all out hentai which destroys a couple of the characters on a level that is hard to describe because I've never seen it done this badly before. People complain about the sex in GoT, but that's nothing compared to the manga of this series...

Hmm... I think... because it was depressing. ![]()
It's the same reason I hated Rebellion Story before watching it, as you know. And well, I was kind of right. What happens is terrible. Just beautifully so.
And yeah, when I brought up SSY to geth before I was made aware of the manga's interesting quirks. ![]()

Fair enough, which is why I wanted to throw on spoiler tags just incase. It is similar to TRS in the sense that it has a twist ending that the rest of the series builds up to, but beyond that it has a completely different direction and tone. Is it bittersweet? Absolutely, but I can't see it leaving you feeling depressed the way TRS did. I mean TRS was basically meant to ****** off the fans (which it did so very well, unless your crazy like me
) SSY is like emotional payoff done to the extreme with a couple twists thrown in.

Thank Madoka I don't have to rant about how :| I am for the millionth time about SSY's manga.
But yes Puddi, I really do hope you enjoy the series when you get to it. I won't say much but I will echo the idea that the emotional payoff was huge for me.
The novel is steadily getting a fan translation which makes me happy.

I can totally understand her, explosions are very beautiful and can change so much! D'aaaaw ![]()
While i'm watching Death Note this time around i'll make a point of putting Shin Sekai Yori higher up on the list. At some point i should be able to get around to watch it, before 2016 at least if the list doesn't explode with tons of more animes.. which has happened in the past ![]()

Anyone who watches Baccano should watch Durrururururaururururaurura. Not only is it a similar non-linar story structure, it has an epically funny moment you have to watch Baccano to appreciate.
(Ok, that's not the actual spelling of the title, but who can remember the number of r's?)
