I finished watching "When They Cry". It was pretty cool, I liked the part when Shion stopped killing people.

Me and my brother are doing an exchange.

There are a ton of others coming out, though, like the new Persona, Black Butler, Space Dandy, SAO. For a lot of them I'm still at the "I need to watch the earlier stuff first" stage. You can probably find a better list of summer anime than the badly formatted CR list I found.

Why is there never anime about magical transforming boys?
There isn't?

So... since the summer season is just starting, are there any shows you folks will be watching? The only ones I have in mind are Akame ga Kill! (hype, though I wonder how much is because it has "Kill" in the title), Glasslip (PA Works seems to be on point), and Sailor Moon Crystal. Tokyo ESP also sounds interesting, actually (probably because it has "ESP" in the title). I'm open to suggestions, though, because I actually like being a serial guinea pig that ends up watching a ton of crap anime that I wouldn't have bothered with if I waited till they were done.

There are a few things that sorta interest me that you haven't mentioned. DRAMAtical murder, Aldona Zero (Written by Gen Urobuchi hype hype hype) the psycho pass remake interests me as well.

Yeah, that's another that I may need to watch the original for (or not, I need to look into what the remake entails).the psycho pass remake interests me as well.

Well it's the show made into one hour episodes which could be a good thing or a bad thing. I also spelt Aldnoah zero massively wrong. It's being directed by Ei Aoki who has a good resume from what I can see.

Terror in Resonance looks good.
Directed by Watanabe and music by Yoko Kanno.

There are a few animes i got an eye on but i don't even know if they'll be good at all or not. Akame ga Kill (yes Kill is the perfect reason to pick it) and then there are a few others like Zankyou No Terror and of course Aldnoah Zero and that anime i got a million reasons to watch like Gen Urobuchi writing it and Kajiura Yuki and Kalafina adding their magical touch to it. Tokyo ESP sound interesting enough aswell to warrant a watch. Then there are a dozen more animes i got an eye on but will wait on until i get to hear opinions about them, like Tokyo Ghoul.

So couple updates on what I've been watching.
I kinda binged through Serial Experiment Lain since I had some time over the last few days. I really, REALLY liked it, but I'm kinda exactly their target audience (cyberpunk, obscure references to science and tech, and psychological craziness, yes please). Also, it has one of my favorite opening sequences, right up there with Beyond the Boundary.
I personally would probably give it a 9/10, but for someone who isn't quite into this type of show, I can see it being more of an 8. Less if its the themes do absolutely nothing for you. Very fun show, but it definitely left me a little like this.

And I'm totally fine with that.
And then just an update on my journey through the Evangelion series. I'm up through episode 12 (just before the movies and the series begin to diverge) and while I do appreciate the little bit of extra insight you get into the characters by this point, I really feel the show isn't adding very much at this point. I also feel certain scenes are done better in the movie, like when Shinji asks Asuka about why she pilots an Eva.
Things I like about the series include the extra humor, which is a nice touch over the pretty series movies. Also, since I'm watching the dub, I kinda love how Asuka randomly breaks into German. I'm am indifferent towards the show being much more shippy than then movie.
Also, thermal expansion, lol.

I stand corrected.
Yes you do.
Funnily enough, SS is so much better than Sailor Moon, it's not even funny.
It's plot actually makes sense.
The "armor" is actual armor.
And the cast doesn't suffer from the "total retardation syndrome".
And yet in the USA is kinda went barely noticed.

Hamatora season 2.
Not because it was spectacular, rather because the last episode ends with such a massive cliffhanger the creators should be punished with lifelong whipping on the dick for that.

It looks like Yuki Kajiura will be continuing her role as composer for SAO this season. That series is also a major hype train, but many have issues with it... for pretty good reasons. Who am I kidding though, I'm gonna give it another shot. Sorry geth, why yes I do like the taste of sewage--There are a few animes i got an eye on but i don't even know if they'll be good at all or not. Aldnoah.Zero looks like it has Hiroyuki Sawano composing the soundtrack. Who is also pretty -- hnnnnnnnngh
-- fantastic.

Ahh, yeah, maybe the villain isn't horrible this time, also.
Thing is, the characters in general I found likeable, it's just, the plot was so dumb.

Unnnngh. I already was thinking about checking out Aldnoah but knowing that Sawano is scoring it seals the deal.
I'm insanely tired so I probably should actually note the other too.
Of course Sailor Moon Crystal is my biggest eeee bringer but I'm also very excited for both Black Butler's Book of Circus series and the Book of Murder OVA. I poked around to check the voice cast a bit and at the very least they got Sebastian and Ciel's original VAs, so I'm pleased.

Akame ga Kill? I've heard that...
Is that Akame ga Kiru? If it is... it's eh...
Well, it's fun, and it has some really funny characters and they are all enjoyable. But unlike Kill la Kill, it's not the special kind of fun. But I'm sure you guys will enjoy it just to have a blast :-) they also handle a group called the 'Jaegers' really well. They're kind of antagonists, but it's not that, it's just that they're hired by the 'bad guys' and they have their own arcs too, making them as empathetic as the main characters.
P.S It has one of the best homosexual characters since Akise Aru - Braht.

The best way to watch SAO is to close your eyes and mute the dialogue.
You know just listen to the ost.
