But now I have to wait a week for the next episode. It hurts so much. Sadly I feel it might get overshadowed by SAO2.

So i've started watching date a live. It's weird as **** but also surprisingly good. It has some great character designs, fun action and an amazing sense of humor and some rather good music.

I've had that bookmarked for ages but anime has kept me busy ^.^

And indeed, from what I can tell, the best stories are neither totally 'organic' or totally 'architectural' (terms I borrowed from Martin.) They are always a blend of both.

Perhaps Naughty Dog thought to themselves when writing the Last of Us that "it would totally great if he lied at the end" but later considered the meaning behind that lie.

I'm planning on buying the game for PS4 as well and probably stream a playthrough of it if anybody's interested to see me playing through it. Been playing Second Son while Mr. House has been watching me streaming it through.

Anyway, I was thinking on writing some coherent thoughts on the ending of Clannad alone.

Not sure how I feel about the CGI transformation scene but otherwise I thought it was great.

@Chris

Stop thinking and just do it. It'll give me something to look forward to reading :)

Went and watched the first episode of Tokyo Ghoul and it's messed up in the right way! It's so unlike right about all animes that i tend to watch that so much about it felt fresh enough for me. That and it's just crazy and messed up and i really need to have something like this to watch. Solid first episode which really sold the anime for me. Got an appetite for more, especially after the art style they went with

Back from work...

Going to read Vagabond. I'm seriously terrified of actually going back into LOTGH. Whatever happens, YANG can't die. I don't think I could take another favourite character dying. I've had loads of those in me, but not now.

Nah man, Let's Play it and put it up on youtube, Chris. That means I can watch it at my leisure. Seeing how my schedule is f*cked atm for time, it'll be a pain if I don't watch it.

I just finished the last episode of Evangelion, and I must say I loved it because...

Spoiler

Either that or I just completely misunderstood everything. Either way, it was an entertaining and thought provoking series, and I understand why it's held in such regard now. I also understand the need for the director's cuts and movies that came out afterwards, as not every detail was covered in the 26 episode run time of this show. The animation and art style was really good. It reminded me of watching old-school sci-fi shows. At any rate, this was a series created by a guy with a lot of vision.

9/10

It will not be complete without a full bodypillow of L. Something you can hug closely and whisper nice things to!

Well, the cool thing is that I should be able to save it on Ustream so you can watch it whenever, really. No problem there.

I wasn't a fan of the endings execution in NG: E, nor the fact that Shinji reverts back to the same old whining kid in the OVA's. (He'd be right at home on the BSN though. LOL.)

Congratulations!

That being said former hanar, do you plan on checking out End of Evangelion and the Rebuilds? The first two Rebuilds will feel like ground you've already covered but the latter half of the second and all of the third are entirely new. End of Evangelion is also a personal favorite of mine so bias bias.

I could probably make a five hour speech on why it bothers me that folks get pissy about Shinji but I'll save it for now and summarize it simply with: Self worth is a tricky thing to maneuver as you get older. That and I've felt that the series and movies do a fine job of highlighting the fact that mental hangups don't magically disappear as you age, you just find ways of hiding them better.

Are you familiar with the troubled production of the show?

I haven't looked much into it, but I did gather that there were probably quite a few problems due to the empty scenes where nothing would happen for a minute, and the drops in animation quality during some parts of the series. Also, the fact that there were a few parts of the story that were incomplete shows this too. However, I did thoroughly enjoy what I did get during the series, and I felt that the overall presentation was impressive, despite its faults.

I heard D+R re-hashes a lot of things, so I'm going to wait a while before watching that and EoE.

I just couldn't relate to Shinji at all, I tried and I think to some extent I succeeded, that is until EoE and then I gave up.

I'm sorry.

But Anima said something that caught my eye...

"Former Hanar?"

WHAT?

NOBODY IN PARTICULAR IS THAT STUPID JELLYFISH?

Maybe I'll get the motivation to finish Eva today.  I'm currently 20 episodes in.  As of now, I don't see the series really doing anything better than the movies, which I really enjoyed.  I do like some of the extra interactions but that's about it.  I will say, after about episode 15 things definitely started to get more interesting and there is definite shift in tone, so I'll leave my final judgment till I finish it the series.  Can't wait to see what all the fuss over episodes 25 and 26 is about.

It takes 70 years at the very least for this pair to figure out the obvious -- Gotta love them.
