*shrugs* Watching Hokuto no Ken as a kid, got me hooked on the genre.

No you are not, I'm all for suspension of disbelief or whatever it's called(I'm tired leave me alone) but I hate it when you have 5 guys armed with Uzis 40ft away and the "hero" leaps through the air and kicks all their asses.

 

Atleast it's more flashy than Toaru Majutsu no Index, when the main hero just punches stuff with his special right hand. Although it's funny sometimes when the show becomes self-aware and plays it for laughs.

And that whole Kyubei is bad feeling I had earlier turned out more or less exactly how I anticipated.

I don't like it when stories are so predictable, I just hope there's some twist to it I don't see coming. At least the Homura story-line offers some potential in that regard.

 

As to swordsman anime:

Sword of the Stranger. If you haven't watched it, do it. If you have watched it, do it again. Decent story (it's really only there to set up the fights, but it does an allright job), excellent soundtrack (click me and enjoy) and amazing choreography with breathtaking animations makes it easily the one of the very best Samurai/Swordsman themed action anime.

Halfway through season one of Code Geass and it took maybe 4-5 episodes for me to truly enjoy it but by now it's being a blast to watch and the storyline so far has actually been quite awesome. Code Geass is making me excited for watching more mecha animes which just made my list even more stupidly large. Like the art, so far quite like the characters in it aswell and got a sweet spot for a few of them especially Nunnally. No way i couldn't adore her by now!

Humanity can hardly benefit from their so-called entropy stalling if it's inevitably wiped out by through what must be a vicious circle of creating stronger magical and thus stronger witches.

Kyubei's puzzlement about not undertsnad deception is an outright lie. Not giving crucial informations whilst actively manipulating people into accepting the contract is the very definition of deception and most certainly not just a misunderstanding.

And the whole entropy reason it gives is a load of BS. Even if a rare few species souls' can theoretically be converted into energy at an entropy defying rate, wiping them out is ultimately contra-productive and entropy would still occur in the longrun.



I don't know if that's just plain horrible writing, or if Kyubei's species is simply lying though their teeth to farm that energy (or whatever it is they're achieving) to their own ends, or if they simply like destroying planets with the aforementioned vicious cycle.

You know, its okay if you didn't like PMMM as much as most did. No one is gonna lynch you for it - but to call it bad writing just because you didn't like it is just silly.

 

There is a reason this is one of the most popular and well renown anime out there -- its because of its writing and characters.

I'm personally a fan of Kallen & Lelouch -- Favorite characters in Code Geass for certain.

Suzaku gets an honorable mention for being voiced by his mightiness, Yuri Lowenthal. His character is kinda of a ****** though.
