When i started watching Cuunibyou a month or so back i didn't at all expect to find the scenes like when Yuuta went on a dickish rampage on Dekomori. That scene probably suprised me the most just because i didn't expect it at all and especially not at one of my favorite characters. It just was a true shock and did i want to smack him at the time. But the scene is believeable because very few people are that reasonable when something like that happen.. still Dekomori T..T

The revelation of why Rikka was the way she is hit pretty hard because it was so easy to just assume she did it because she thought it was fun or because she really didn't care about the "normal" world. Everything about why she got her "eight grader syndrom" really did excel her character to be so much more nuanced. Now Tooka do have a very good point and such which i do agree with but on the other hand she could prepare, she was just more ready and she could in a way say goodbye which was something Rikka never had the chance to do. I don't envy Yuuta's position in this topic since he can reach both sides of Rikka but one side is her being obviously more happy but it's also her chuunibyou side and does it really help her staying there or not? I can't say either and they'll probably figure out some middleground one day. They are amazing people and the best couple that i've seen so i got faith!

I wouldn't call just having girls fanservice. More like pointless cuteness.

The roommate is basically just there for comedic yuri, Isn't she? Very first episode I was ever shown of the series starts with the main character waking up to being spooned from behind by her roommate who snuck into her bed at night.

Dekomori got on my nerves a bit. If I asked someone to keep a personal secret, and they went in front of the entire school and revealed it I doubt I'd be friends with them anymore.

Not even the main series is safe from pointless fanservice. Plot, plot, cut, 2 nuns in fetish outfits somehow sleepwalked into Touma's tent and feeling him up, then he gets beated up for being a pervert, cut, plot goes on. The ****.

 

I have a hate/love relationship with that show, great constructed world ruined with annoying harem antics. And the anime is just the first few story arcs adapted from the Light Novels, I dread to know how will that escalate further down the road.

It makes her entertaining most of the time, I just wish there was a bit more to her just being a troll 100% of the time. Tbh Shichimiya was the only side character I personally ended up liking much.

Just give me nonstop Rikka/Yuuta and I'll be a happy camper. To hell with the side characters.

Same here. The show and world itself has a lot of great aspects to it, but there's a lot of decisions with the show that leave me scratching my head.

I was surprised when out of my group of friends I was the only one who seemed to question why this character in season 2 who looked, sounded and acted like a 10 year old spoiled rich girl was making bombs and traps and was apparently trained in hand to hand combat. One of my friends pointed out that it was common for animes to have kids that are amazing fighters which I'm OK with when magic is involved as long as it remains consistent with the world and rules set forward.

Take Misaka for example, I accept the premise that the show presents and have no problem accepting that she's as powerful as she is, she doesn't have to be experienced to have raw power. But then you have our little weapons expert and all suspension of disbelief is lost for me.

Stormheart: Sorry, can't quote properly right now cause mobile BSN is plenty hurdur. It's technically been years since I made way through Gunslinger Girl so the details are super rusty but if I'm remembering right, each of the girls had their bodies augmented (not by choice? At least I know Henrietta was scooped up and put back together after her accident) and I want to say some form of drug was used on them too. I'm biased as hell cause I do love the series and it sits along in my cauldron of heartbreaking. The music is astounding though and one of the main points I push to get people to try and give it a shot.

I've kind of been thinking about working through it again lately, as well as the manga and the second series, Il Tetrino. I remember not being crazy about the art shift on the latter but the story was still good.
