Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion has now been completed. Will pick up the next season tomorrow but first some thoughts on what happened. A lot did happen and that i would like CG as much as i do right now was not something that i expected at all when picking it up. I've got a rather weak experience with mecha animes in the past and CG is probably the first one that i has completed and can say that i would watch again without much delay. Story, characters, setting and art style are all of really high quality. Everything about this anime was better than i had been told, really pleased that i saved it and could take my time with it. It's been part of my anime watching for almost 2 weeks now and they have been amazing!

 

Now the the events of the last two episodes

Lelouch kicked of episode 24 with one stroke of genius when instead of taking fight against the army of Cornelia and instead just removed the ground beneth them. Granted this is something one has almost come to expect from someone as aware and intelligent as Lelouch. The sight was something to behold with awe! Everything about the battle that happened was really well thoughtout and the events that transpired really did fit the vision of what i have of a warzone. Chaos, blood, death and more chaos. It really never is anything else than chaotic and that was nailed to perfection! Also it was absolutely thrilling to see Suzaku to be consumed by anger and hatred, for once he was not a righteouss and hypocritical kid but actually someone that acted with force and for less than noble intentions. He was not boring at all and i really hope he can be like this a bit more often. Wouldn't want him to leave his previous style completely of course, someone always has to have that role and he's done it well.

 

The conclusion of so many arcs during the last episodes happened that it really is a shame that i can't mention them all without probably forgetting one or two. It was great to see C.C and Lelouch finally understand each other better and actually realise that they together can reach far beyond what any person ever should be able to. It was also very refreshing to see the rebellion come crashing down and right now at least smolder in embers because the thrashing they got after Lelouch abandoned the battle. Seen far too many impossible victories in media that a crushing defeat is rather welcome. Also Nunally please stop getting kidnapped please, i adore you far too much to be happy about seeing you end up in situations that are just not good for you. All that said i feel they've really done well with Nunally and her being Lelouch main source of motivation for making a better tomorrow, it feels very genuine!

This reminds me that I need to go back and watch Code Geass: Akito the Exiled -- Looks like Lelouch will appear in that one too.

Like i said yesterday i now also finished "The Devil is a Part-Timer" and it's an utter disgrace that i actually let it sitt on my list longer than any other anime before watching it. 13 episodes long and i can't at any point say that i wasn't either intrigued or amused by what was happening. The closest i got was perhaps a bit of the last episode but that was quickly fixed by the very end of the episode which had one really nice touch which an anime about demons, angels and fast food etc probably never was expected to have. The anime got really strong characters that do well within the frame of the anime. The story is obviously a bit silly at times which is why i picked the anime to start with. The art and soundtrack are good and while i've seen better they do not in any way weaken the experience. Does the anime have a weakness? I would say yes, it got no second season yet which is dangerously close to a crime since it really should be more of it but time might tell if that will happen or not. If you watch it i recommend that you don't watch it expecting to be amazed by cleverness or any special plot twists or so. I found it best just to go with the flow and just appreciate that it's crazy and silly and didn't pretend otherwise

 

 

Got a few animes that i might pick up now, "Squid Girl", "Golden Time", "Hyouka" and a few others are up for it at the moment.

With this i leave my watch and Isichar and anyone else will take over!

I haven't looked at that one because it looks like Lelouch isn't in it. I'm glad my bro loves CG, cos I do too!

some unfortunate set of circumstances at the end of Season 1 makes Charles Ashlocke decide to mindwipe him, so he might just be a puppet of Britannia in this one

 

I liked CC but I liked Kallen a bit more.

I'd probably enjoy it but 110 episodes (to say nothing of the movies) is a lot. I will watch it someday perhaps after Date a live season 2 and Mirai Nikki when I have to decide between //Hack. Code geass and LOTGH (They are the biggest animes on my list)

.hack//Legend of the Twilight had brother/sister incest with the main characters a few years before it got into every anime ever and ruined every anime ever forever.

 

Still better than SAO tho.

.hack//Sign is the best show because lesbians and the music.

So yeah just go with .hack//Sign not bad but a bit boring.
