Not. My guess is the original series of Dragon Ball became popular mostly because of Tien and Piccolo, and obviously Goku himself too.
Or because it was a silly gag series that later got some neat fights. The Journey to the West imagery and things did help I am sure.

Decided I was a huge baka without it in my ipod.
So it took 5 episodes into season 2 of Code Geass for me to take Suzaku into my heart. What he did at the end of the episode made me have the moster sinister smirk i possible could wear. He's not the same person as he once was and this Suzaku that i've been shown so far is absolutely one character that i can stand behind. The way he's changed from events during the first season really is quite impressive and i look forward to the coming episodes, they are bound to be absolutely excellent!
Still need to pick the light hearted anime but i got at least a few hours left to choose

Yes they are. It's a very serious show. Tons of politics, characters, battles etc... by the end a TON of them die, it's GOT in space xD
But it has some of the most memorable quotes in anime
(finally found the enhanced version, not that pre-dvd crap.)

Art Style is like the most subjective thing you can come up with man. It's like saying "my favourite colour is orange not blue."
I'm not particularly fond of One Piece's art, but I know Geth likes it. Don't know how much he does, but definitely more than me xD Gintama's character models are really simple, I swear you could just replace one or two things and they'd look near-identical. Others would say that's a flaw, but I really enjoy that simplicity.

But I'm sure that there are some people who prefer a more abstract style to the whole 'realistic' thing it has going on.
I suppose it's all how it speaks to you and how effectively it can create an atmosphere via colours/shades etc...

Code Geass characters do have a kinda 'grey alien' look going on with their faces.
But Bleach just looks generic, so they both suck.

simfamSP you should read Inoue's earlier work Slam Dunk. At first the artwork is simple, but it slowly evolves into what we know and love in his later work. It has decent humor with good character development and some drama.

Don't know about Slam Dunk, I mean, I can't watch real sports without losing consciousness. But hey! I said "nah" to subs and now 3 of the four shows I'm watching now are subs.
As for the other one, it looks more interesting. So yeah that'll be in the list.

I'd say Gintama ftw for that one. I'm f*cking hooked on it.
But then again, it's looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong.
Oh and I like One Piece's art enough to own the Color Walks because having those color spreads big, nice looking and in hand is amazing.
Seriously can't wait for the next Color Walks to come out over here because they have some of my favorite color spreads.
