It was an amusing april fools until it actually got taken really seriously by a lot of people. A quick google and so many people could've avoided getting overly hyped about a joke. Ah well, time for some Zankyou No Terror! Some actually good content ![]()

Know what if it's Liam Neeson doing it I just might like it. Even if your straight there's always that one awesome dude where you go: "Maybe your an exception...."

*cough*
I can relate.

It's the best kind of april fools. The kind were you tell it again and then people google it and just see the entire first page Supposedly confirming it long after april has passed.
It worked on me and I've been bitter ever since. I wanted people to feel my pain....
YOU SPOILED MY FUN.

It's a bit annoying having to wait so long for more Titan.
There are 2 giants currently walking around my city. I'm going to see them tomorrow - tempted to go in my AoT stuff and take silly photos.

Clannad got the most adorable genius ever, Kotomi Ichinose is too adorable to be true and i'm really happy to have her take over after Fuko. Now to prepare on possible feels because that's how Clannad roles!

Now for some Kyoko gushing because i've been terrible at it over the last few days.. shameful indeed!

Last time I checked, 2015 will most likely be season 2/3(however you want to count it) since clash of the titans arc is fucken long as hell and they have enough content now, even if they get into the politic arc, there's still enough there to end it for the next season.

Really loving One Piece a lot, especially as soon as it got to the Thriller Bark & Sabaody Archipelago Arc -- The introduction of modern slavery, like human trafficking and alien prejudice was such a nice gesture. It shows off some mature sides to this show, even if it is a bit too compromising with its delicacy to violence, and provides a small and neat bits of social commentary based on the politics of its world. So awesome. I also love how the creator has managed to make almost every character distinct, and not everyone look like a bishounen. Me gusta.
Also, TeamFourStar's recurring voice actor GeneralIvan (Cooler, Dr. Gero etc.) is going to voice Gecko Moria in the dub which is so awesome. Love his voice.

The arc right after SA is when the Toei pacing got to me and I just could not keep watching the anime week by week. Still the "big moment" of the SA arc was done pretty good.
And yeah those themes are done well for a series for kids. Adds a new level to the Arlong arc from way back. Plays into some other big stuff later too.
In the current arc we have our first bishonen and he is a joke off bishonen character types. He eats roses. lol
As for the dub I wonder how they will do with that laugh?

I like One Piece, it's kept me interested unlike Bleach where I stopped ages ago. Not every arc is good in one Piece but that's to be expected from series with 656 episodes.

That's because it is mostly coherent and fun and Bleach is not. I will say it again One Piece is better than Bleach.
As for bad or not that good arcs I feel Toei makes them even worse. Besides the bad pacing and art/animation doing something like have a kid Hody being attacked by humans in a filler flashback ruins everything about the character and almost everything about the Fishman Island arc And that character and arc were not that great to begin with.

What I also like about One Piece is its immense lore and interesting mystery -- Things like the Will of the D, the story of Gol Roger, these ancient weapons that were encrypted inside some ancient hieroglyphics -- also it has an armada of interesting characters, both among the Straw Hats but also among the Marines and other Pirate crews, even some that aren't. I'm liking the Warlords a lot, they all seem interesting and not all of them are saturday morning cartoon villains -- Also I gotta say that I do like Boa Hancock, when her past was revealed, her infatuation with Luffy is a bit endearing.
Even if everything about is ridiculously preposterous, I can't help but like it, and it usually functions quite well with its own established rules as each absurd supernatural element is usually provided with some throughout exposition, like how there is a current that connects Ennies Lobby with the other Marine HQs, which in turn explains why a Marine ship would able to go this fast. Although, while some explanations seem sort of handwaved, at best, they usually work out given the nature of the entire show's antics.
Archipelago also introduced some new and interesting rivals for Luffy like Eustass Kid and Trafalgar Law. Looking forward to see how they play out in the future, for sure.
I think One Piece is nice to have around when you don't got much else to see and since it's so long I've been following it a lot ever since Funimation starting doing their dub so it's earned a special place for me -- the sort of show I can enjoy every now and then without having to worry too much about forgetting some stuff or feeling out of the loop.

Spoiler
Same here House, that scene + AoT music had me on the edge of my knob.
Door knob that is.
Moving on...
You guys are really getting me interested in One Piece. Though Geth has said a ton of good things about it (and despite being a dirty old man he has great taste) the other stuff people say about it make me want to watch it more.
It seems to me that it's neither OMGOFJSHUSFHG excellent, nor is it just plain mediocre, it's so huge that you'll get a drop of quality from time to time and you'll also get a sudden rise.
Either way, it's still too huge a thing for me to tackle at the moment. I might just read the manga and that's it seeing as the anime will take me ages to finish.
Oh, and any idea how many episodes Stardust Crusaders is going to have? Want to start the JoJo manga straight after the third anime.

Yeah the lore, mysteries and the world building are really good in my view. I mean Luffy and gang are most likely on the same path in the Grand Line that Roger was on but the fact there are other paths out there with islands we never see and will never see? That is actually pretty interesting, to me at least. The other Supernovas went on those other paths and had their own fun adventures with their own boss fights. I like that, makes the world feel big and that makes it feel more real.
I really think One Piece is a solid adventure fantasy world thing.
As for those characters Chris yeah I like Hancock, tho I get why some people have problems with her. Hell I had some problems with her in that she was not a real adversary. I liked that the Warlords are not all villains. But with most of them up to that point being foes and Mihawk being Zoro's goal it was kind of a disappointment for me that she came to be an ally that fast. But I got over that feeling really fast, like by the time Jinbe shows up. And Chris you will like Jinbe, if not I will hate you forever. >:|
So yeah Hancock is fun, I like her gags and her thing with Luffy makes sense and is kind of cute.
The Supernovas are cool for plot reasons and those world building reasons I was talking about. I didn't care for Law much at first but he grows on you. Kid I still don't really have an opinion on yet. I can see him becoming the Whitebeard to Luffy's Roger only without being a full on copy of Whitebeard.
Oh and Kid as a girl is cute.

And X. Drake is a dinosaur.
So I of course need to know more about him.

Poor Bleach, it's really underappreciated. It's really ahead of its time, Tite Kubo is a genious, masterfully hiding subtle thoughts in a neverending shonen guise. I hope it will be seen as the most important cultural heritage of Japan (as it is tbh) in a decade or so. Tousen's transformation, which is a wonderful shout out to Kafka, and how Coyote Starrk is a metaphor for the death of invidualism and the evils of peer pressure makes you really think.

Bleach was good when it started, then the massive pacing issues started, then the shitty writing really took ful lforce, then Bleach lost great fighting scenes leaving any reason to watch the show worthless.
