Which Ghost in the Shell?

All of them. I can only not recommend the Arise series by virtue of not having watched it yet.

They're all sort of separate continuities so you don't have to worry about whether to first watch the movies Ghost in the Shell and Innocence, or the TV series Stand Alone Complex seasons 1 and 2 (followed by the movie Solid State Society), or Arise.

I like the TV series more by virtue of the depth of the plot and character arcs you can get in 26 episode seasons, and some great action sequences with great music, but you could say the movies are more "artistic" and layered with meaning in each scene.

Ah, and the dubs are good too so you don't have to worry about that.

Nah not you, was asking Fumbles, just so I know not to list anime he probably already seen.

Oh. Sorry about the delay.

I am currently up to date on Akame Ga Kill!, The irregular at magic high school, SAO S2, No Game No Life. Watched all of Soul Eater(not the new one), seen all of FMA:B and FMA, Madoka Magica, and a couple others I can't remember.

Add JoJo: Stardust crusaders(which is on-going and covers the third arc). It's separate from Bizarre adventures(which covers the first two arcs)

Ok. Ty. I'll add it. I prefer action animes, so stuff like Ouran High School Host club doesn't really interest me. I have tried Lucky Star, but I can only watch so much of it.

Might have been something and her 7 companions too. Social High School drama ones are boring.

I would simply go R1 and then R2 for Code Geass, then try all the other stuff if you feel like it.

I heard Bokuko No Akito is good but I haven't actually seen it yet.

It's interesting in the discussion about CLAMP's overall style, they seem pretty polarizing. I feel like they sometimes feel kinda screwy but the actual character concept they're presenting visually is almost always brilliant. I feel like the low point is xxxholic but even then I still enjoy it. I don't know if anyone can nail a character impression like CLAMP.

I also just like that they make really attractive male characters as well as female characters instead of just the standard hot female strange looking/covered up male you see in many games/media.

Do any of those shows cover the theme of revenge? I do adore a good revenge story.

Kill la Kill, Brotherhood, , Attack on titan and JoJo have massive revenge aspects(the whole first arc of Kill la Kill is about revenge)

You might want to try Lucky Star out. :)

Seriously though, I am trying to think. Some have revenge in them, but I am trying to see if any have revenge as the main plot.

Kill La kill does for it's first arc.

Tho Kill la Kill might scare away someone who's never watched anime and reaffirm their suspicion that we're all a bunch of pervy deviants

That is true. I am just trying to think of one that it's main theme through out the show. Not just it's arc.

I would recommend Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood even if revenge isn't its main plot.

Hmm true, I forgot the first few episodes where very heavy fan service. I got use to it so quickly that by ep18, half naked people where normal but that's just me.

It's not HSOTD bad thankfully.

I will start with Kill la Kill.

Wish me luck on my plunge into the world of Japanimation.

Oh, and you have my thanks for the recommendations.

Exactly. The problem with modern ones is they do a lot of fan service with a lot of half-naked people running around with very questionable brother and sister relationships.

I will warn you, if you get offended at alot of skin, you will not enjoy KLK.  But if you don't mind that and don't mind some fan service for the first few episodes(after ep10 that stuff is pretty mellow and once 18 happens, ya...)

Just a friendly warning.

The Ghost in the Shell TV series does have a bit of revenge laced throughout both seasons' main plot arcs. The Black Lagoon OVA is also very revenge centered.

Fan service does not really bug me unless it's to the point where I get very uncomfortable. KLK, Akame, that one scene with the sandwich in brotherhood ect don't really bug me that much(since it's either part oft he plot, part of a joke or just there to please fans, where things like HSOTD? Yup, lines crossed!

Ah, it's just a drawing. Nothing to get one's knickers in a twist about.
