Narrowed what to choose from down either Fate/Zero, Angel Beats! and Bakemonogatari. 

 

The only one of them i've watched is angel beats. (The other two are on my list) It managed to make me both laugh my head off and cry my eyes out BUT and this is a massive but.There are humongous incredibly obvious plot holes that may spoil your experience. I managed to glaze over them at least until I finished but some people may be unable to.

So far not dropped any anime that i've watched so should be able to survive some plotholes of that size. If i'm interested in a short anime i'll go with Beats! Out of the 3 it's been on the list the longest so maybe..

Monogatari is kind of hard to watch if you want to catch every scrap of text that shows up during the transitions, even though they're just excerpts from the light novels and not really necessary to understand the scenes. But I end up pausing like crazy because it was there, so I have to read it. Other than that it's an interesting sort of monster mystery that the hero solves by getting his ass kicked over and over again.

 

Very dialog heavy with a lot of wordplay and philosophical banter and stuff. Also somewhat fanservice heavy, occasionally to a disturbing level.  :rolleyes:  And Shaft gave it a pretty unique animation style that you'd recognize immediately from that other thing they did more recently, Mekakapotamucity Actors.

Going with Angel Beats! It's been on the list the longest and after going through two 25 episode seasons of Code Geass it's probably for the best that i got with something shorter for once. That and maybe during the coming week or so i might be able to pick a new anime.. nah i wont but i can at least fool myself for a few weeks!

Two episodes into Angel Beats and pretty happy with picking it. Brilliant soundtrack so far in addition to the great art style which has made it really enjoyable to watch and listen to! The story so far has been somewhat crazy but absolutely appropriate and i really do look forward to watching more and see exactly what madness that awaits. Two episodes isn't much to judge characters by but from what has been told about a limited amount of characters are well above enough and i look forward to learning more about these crazy people! The start knocked it out of the park and hopefully it doesn't go down in quality, it might just be what will sort me out until i can find what else to spend an eternity watching
