I think the major issue(not with the doubters, they don't have a grain) is that it is accomplished by essentially cutting people up to the parts that Homura likes or the parts that pose the most threat, like memories and Madoka's connection with her Godoka splinter and Sayaka's and Nagisa's witch forms.

 

Yeah, it's a perfect world(-ish) but it's filled with lobotomized people, and not that different of a situation from her witch maze

Oh I agree, hence I said the price. The price is not small, it's very big and it's natural not everyone would like it and would prefer Modoka more natural law, even with it's sadness(Sayaka and Bebe being dead) Personally though while it might feel forced I will admit I approve of what she did because it allows these character to have a life again, sure it was created through betrayal but isn't it good to be alive with close friends again and Kyubey and his kind being  put into their place? It's not a pleasant situation and I don't think people who even support her choice would agree it's 100% rainbows. There are some bad implications in how she did it, but it did have a far more successful impact then Madokas law, even if her law was more natural.

In the "long run"? She could barely keep the facade together after just one encounter with Madoka. I don't think any of that stuff is going to last.

 

What she did was act to protect Madoka whether Madoka (or any of the rest of them) asked for it or not, which I won't say is wrong, but it's definitely selfish and also probably a short-sighted decision whose consequences won't be any rosier than season 1. It's not necessarily wrong, but it's still muda muda muda muda muda. But that's what makes her a tragic character.
