Well duh. But if someone is fine with one kid show's silliness, one should be fine with another show's silliness. Since it's all the same kind of silliness to begin with.Logan Cloud wrote...
I get that MLP and OP are both kid's shows, but I honestly don't think liking MLP and liking OP are the same thing.

I'd recomend Helling: Ultimate. The original series wasn't as good

@J. Reezy As I have have said many times in the past, One Piece is a series for kids. Still a great series but one has to keep in mind that the "stupid" stuff(I like to know what came off as stupid to you) is what kids like.
You and Logan for that matter, should at least give the manga a read up to chapter 100, since the first 100 chapters is just the prologue. And again everyone loves the series when it gets to the Arlong arc. I mean from what I have seen of what you guys like in manga/anime, I think you would like the series.
Yeah you should give One Piece a chance.
Oh and don't listen to Some_Geth. Don't read the manga first and watch the anime later. You might get dissapointed. Everyone says the manga is the best and that's true. So I'd say keep the best for the last, right? Watch the already really good anime first and read the even better manga later.
But honestly, the difference between the manga and anime is not that big though. The only real obvious difference is that the pacing in the anime is different with a few minor retcons and of course a bunch of filler arcs here and there. I personally prefer to watch the anime because it has color, animation, sound and music! I'm a sucker for color, moving images and cool music.

Do yourself a favor though and watch the original Japanese version with English subtitles. The English dubs really aren't as good as the superb preformance of the original Japanese voice-actors.
In the Japanese version, Chopper, one of the main characters, is voiced by the same woman who did the voice for pikachu. That alone should be reason enough to watch the Japanese version.

I'll go through each episode twice checking out both Japanese and English. If the dub is annoying though I'll probably keep it on the japanese with the subtitles exclusively. I have run into some very annoying dubs but not too often.Heretic_Hanar wrote...

Some Geth wrote...
Sure why not, I mean he never shows any signs of being interested in anyone. Like I said, he is intentionally asexual if you go off of the writing or Oda.
Why do you think Luffy is intentionally asexual?
I think he's just too focussed on becoming a pirate king to care about women. That doesn't mean he's asexual though. I didn't care about women as a teenager either and I'm not asexual, I actually have a girlfriend now.
Maybe when Luffy gets older he'll get a wife, just like Gold Roger did. But that won't be happening anytime soon, not as long as Luffy is focussed on becoming the Pirate King that is.The game is somewhat better than the newer Musou games.
That is great to hear!
To be honest, I think Son Goku was asexual as well, even though he had a wife and at least had sex with her two times.
No sorry, but I'm the living proof that you're wrong. I was not that much interested in girls as a young teenager. I was more occupied with other things. But I'm an adult now with a beautiful girlfriend who I want to share my life with and who I might want to marry and have kids with in the near future.
See, I'm the living proof that you're wrong.
That said, I do think Luffy won't get romanticly involved with anyone during the series, not now, not ever. After all, Oda himself said that he does not want to include romantic subplots in One Piece. So basically that means EVERYONE in One Piece is asexual, except for Sanji perhaps.

The FUNimation dubs of One Piece are rather decent, not bad at all. It's just that the Japanese preformance is just soooo much better. Honestly, the Japanese voice-actors of One Piece really did an amazing job.

I never get this complaint. Shows that lay out explicitly what's going on in evey aspect are spoon-feeding, nothing else. That's... excruciating, annoying and insulting even (to watch).

That is true, especially in the later episodes. Yesterday when I watched episode 561 I got pissed off because virtually nothing happend in that whole episode.
Still, it isn't as bad as in other popular anime shows such as Dragon Ball Z, Naruto or Bleach, but it's still extremely annoying sometimes.
That said, I still prefer watching the anime over reading the manga because of the color, voice-acting and animations. But I acknowledge that the manga is better.

You dont get it. I have no problem with some things being left open. I feel too many things were left open... at the end of the season... But like i said i rewatched it and it and some things became clear.
Also, who said anything about laying out whats going on in every aspect? I was specifically talking about the end of the series.
