Even though I suspected he would die, it still hit hard for it to happen, it would be like if Julian or Greenhill died for Yang(which thankfully has not happen yet and it better not. It would not bet he same with Yang. These great characters also have great characters that help them and losing one just shows how much they where important, not to mention seeing Reinhard in that emotional state was just heartbreaking or when he ask if his sister loved Kircheis, just man. It felt like a punch to the gut. So many great intelligent characters (and so many idiots XD)

Rarely does a single sentence change my interest in something like this one. That's one of the most silly lines i've ever read and now the anime is on the list

Lotion, I love it when Gin turns to bad-ass mode, them fights in Gintama are some of the best I've seen.

Will they have tons more later on?

 

 

It often parodies Shonen... so yes.

Expect some great star wars, Super Robot, Gundam and OneBleaPiece parodies.

I'm not sure I follow about Geass. People of average intelligence do remarkable things in fiction as well. Heck, even complete idiots (See Son Goku). A lot of Lelouch's later tactical knowledge felt very Hollywood (Napoleonic line tactics? Seriously?) and his strategic knowledge felt like chance, especially at the battle for Damocles. 

 

To be fair, everyone was on the same level of contrivance.I think it mostly showed in R2, though. In R1, it was more tolerable. 

 

Eh. 90% of Lelouch's gambits are variations of 'blow up something from underneath the enemy.' Bombs, landslides, EMP fields, volcanoes...

Personally I thought the 02 ending offered lots of room for sequels for the next generation, but that's just me and my fanfic never written. I'll agree they didn't need to resolve the shipping wars in the way they did, though.

 

This weeks Aldnoah was exactly as good as i had hoped it would be. It's known by now that the art, sound and voices are all great so nothing has changed there. This episode focused on much larger things than the last few which i felt was great since the central plot of the anime needed to see a few characters that were shown and some points that had to be adressed got just that so i'm very happy where things are going. I'm also rather pleased to see just how humanity or mostly Inaho so far is fighting. Intelligence and a quick mind are always incredibly useful weapons against anyone, especially arrogance and enemies with a lot more stuff on their side. Just as excited for next episode as before, Aldnoah is just so terrific!

 

 

 

Just saw it myself. It was good, albeit for different reasons than before.

This week we got some much-needed Slaine development and intrigue regarding Mars. Though Slaine's failure to get peace was eminently predictable, I didn't feel it was contrived- I was already wondering how his lie about what's-his-face's death would be found out, since his story was pretty obviously going to be filled with holes, so being beaten to the punch did more to rise my estimation of the quality of the conspirators than make me eye-roll.

That said, I am wanting the grunts to show some competence sooner rather than later. Inaho wins again with some clever thinking and science... but this definitely wasn't a fight he needed to win on his own. I was fully expecting the LT to bodycheck the badguy overboard, rather than Inaho do it all himself. The reactive armor was also a bit... well, not quite a deus ex, but it didn't have any leadup and it left me wondering where it was supposed to have come from.

 

So while we got some good development on the Martian side, we're still pending some on the Terran side. The students are still students, how the Princess will get anywhere important if she doesn't identify herself isn't clear, and the Earth situation is pretty unclear except that the castles are conquering their own regions.

Starting to quite like Slaine just because of how hopeless his situation really is. He got everything and more against him and nothing really going for him but the development he got during the latest episode was much needed and i do genuinly look forward to watch what he'll do next! Nothing like supporting the underdog with little hope, go get them!
