Double post Sazae-san is the current longest anime but has never made it state side

In terms of North America in order the largest are

Detective Conan (in 17th place) with 665 eps (and counting)

One Piece at 560 eps and counting (in 18th)

And bleach with 366 eps and at the end of its run in 22nd.

Or just see this list

http://en.wikipedia....y_episode_count

I think pokémon would win if we'd count all the series together as one.

How many Pokémon series are there? Like... 4 series or something? Each series is roughly 200 episodes long. That means Pokémon would have at least 800 episodes by now.

GT is part of the canon least anime wise. Manga no, but anime wise it is.

Course if you care to disagree theres a topic for it on the DBZ wikia or you can fight with Akira Toriyama. The fanbase tends to treat it like some Star Wars books or anything made post 80's. Its either the best thing ever or never happend.

As to Pokemone there are 754 eps so far, why its not on the list is unknown to me.

Whether GT is canon or not doesn't matter. Even with GT the Dragonball anime series is still only 508 episodes long, which is not even remotely as long as One Piece or some other long-going anime series.

I don't care whether GT is canon, it sucked regardless. I only liked the first arc in GT, although it was a bit wannabe-Dragonball-ish (I'm talking about the orignal Dragonball with kid Goku). But after the first arc GT started to suck.

The GT part was a joke actually. I'm cereal about those OVA's and movies though, those don't count.

Not saying it was plus your saying this to the guy with the chart links lulz. I counted them all up to see how close it is or isn't. With everything combined its still a far cry away.

Ehh GT was so so, some parts in the later showings were okay. Heck over all while DB and DBZ were good I find them over hyped....face it who watching that show never once screamed "Oh god enough already get to the fighting!" or "God Goku when will you learn to stop talking to the bad guys and just crush them!" Heck its like the Butchery thats DBZ Kai if you actully take important events the whole of DB/Z/Gt I doubt would even be over 200 eps.

It had way too many sleeper momments and far too many filler eps, but alas true of alot of big Animes.

Like Kenshin far more reguardless.

Take it here Lizard boy, I'm right your not, wooo wooo woo.

http://dragonball.wi...T_canon_or_not?

http://dragonball.wi...Inconsistencies

As seen in the top the maker himself says its canon. In the lower it has the least Canon breaks of all the shows.

These are facts. Not the opinions of fans. Fighting over this is like fighting over the ME3 ending, which is to say, Stupid.

And I was waaaaaaaay ahead of ya. :P

As I already looked up the episode chart and counted them all up a few posts before you. Look for yourself, all Dragonball episodes together is 508 episodes. I said it first. :D

And GT is only an anime, not a manga. GT isn't even written by the Dragonball manga-ka in the first place. That's why many people dismiss GT as non-canon.

Like I said the Man himself supports it I can provide links directly to other "fan sites" which are "pft" as honestly there are no web linkings to it. Given Akira Toriyama doesn't seem to care for the net lulz.

So theres no point in me trying to prove this to you, your like many others you see what you want to see, even if shown more and more proof you will never change.

@ HH

If I were to tell you the Moon was such and such distance away would you take it at face value? If so you are dumb. I looked up the Eps myself to see the count for myself, only a fool takes the word of another at face.

Also why I added in Canon to the Anime, not to the Manga. If you want to run with Manga= Canon, then pretty much all of DB/Z/Gt can be thrown out. So shall we go down this road?

Its true, look at the Manga, look at the shows.

In huge places they are far apart, battles, characters, etc etc.

So if Not Manga=Not Canon. Then do we pick around?

I had this talk yeaaaars ago, heck back when Tech TV was around. In the end your either of two camps.

What you like of the anime is canon, and that alone.

Or

You see both as apart and not together.  Split Universe.

If you want to speak of hyperbole, then you find me proof its not canon, and not fan opinion, and not as its "not like/in the Manga". As if thats so then all of DBZ and DB can be thrown out which renders this all mute.

I know you can't and you know that as well.  Hey I don't like some things in history, doesn't change the fact they happend.

Anyways lets move on from this, so Fav space based shows?

Got to give it to Macross, Vandread, and Nadisco.  Also a number of the Gundams and Starblazers. Funny enough these all have Mechs minus the last one lulz.

Also as an edit almost forgot

My favorite space/sci-fi anime is Cowboy Bebop, hands down.

Tenge Toppa Gurren Lagann is a close-second, although that anime is not really related to space. Only thr 2nd half of the anime is in space.

Ehh I didn't mind Gurren so much but just the scale of it and the story was like "what am I watching..." Still not a bad one though.

Cowboy Bebop, idk I just wasn't able to get into it as much Not that its bad, it just had the same "feel" that Samurai Shampaloo had. Not sure how to put it. The end of the show was Awesome though, I mean yeah the hero dies, but it wasn't a bad death.

Also crap here I am like an old man I've seen so many of them they just pop up, but yes. Outlaw Star, thats an anime everyone might want to take a look at. I mean its not a deep story though.

Just a bit short of that mark lulz.

OVA's , Movies, and GT don't really count towards the episode mark as they're outside canon.

As far as I'm concerned GT never happened....

And here I thought that I was the only one on the interwebz who thought this way.
It's a good show, nothing spectacular though.

As for space anime, that's uncharted for me - I've seen only bits and pieces thus far. I love the animation in the older, legendary series and am yet to watch them, but most new Macross and Gundam strike pale, and I haven't really watched them thoroughly. The one I watched through and enjoyed quite a bit was Macross Frontier.

Sorry for quoting the spoil. :pinched:

What's the second one though? The fact that Gurren Lagann takes place in space? That's well known from the get-go.

I just watched ep 7 and 8 of Devil May Cry.

Ep 7 was disastrous. Ep 8 was wonderfully done.

That's what I feel for One Piece.

But I agree, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is totally awesome too!
