RWBY needs to be destroyed from orbit with nuclear bombardment.
With Japan's love for it, soon to be had Japanese dub, and its vast improvements in its second volume, doesn't look like its gonna happen

Nuclear bombardment is for scrubs.

I still really want an Ar Tonelico anime.
Anyway, I should go finish Durarara.
I actually doubt it'll be successful in Japan, it has certain elements that probably will jumpstart a niche following but I don't it'll be sensational, any more than other western-produced animation is over there.
It already is popular, that's why it's getting a official dub(there's already a fan dub) in the first place. There is tons of fanart made by them.

This.
This weeks Aldnoah really was something special. Besides the deus ex machina which i can ignore in favor for everything else this episode did right which were plenty! The episode long fight really was from start to finish something that i had a hard time to not get completely taken in by and there are so many details about it that were done so very right and as Dean mentioned earlier that the sky actually changed colour during the episode was a very nice touch which just make the show stand out further than it already do. Aldnoah isn't perfect but so far it's taken the parts i really like from so many genres and just made them fit so well together and this episode set a lot of important things in motion and next weeks episode is bound to involve some great things. Aldnoah once again make 7 days feel like a long time!

There's an OVA but well it's not very good.

...This was expected. damn
There's fan-art for everything, how is that basis for anything in relation to whether it's gonna be a big success? Note that I phrased it as "successful". I have no doubt that it's got a following in Japan, but whether it's actually gonna be a success, in the same fashion as that of your average Japanese animation, like the big three everyone is familiar with, is doubtful seen from my point of view.It already is popular, that's why it's getting a official dub(there's already a fan dub) in the first place. What did I hear about bombing RWBY?
DBZ fights are awesome...

I wouldn't consider it a full deus ex machina since they built up Tanegashima quite a bit beforehand. It was fairly convenient but not entirely out of nowhere.
Other than that good episode, and I like the not-automatic assumption of trust.

I'd rather see a full anime remake, I found its premise interesting when the character intros came out, but then I watched one and found the CGI animation creepily uncanny.
Its supposed to be in the style its in. Take that away and its no longer RWBY. Its how Monty Oum gets those badass fight scenes in through the series, of which there was a great one in Volume 1's Episode 8 and Volume 2's Episode 4 that just debuted on Thursday.

I was about to write something about theatre plays vs. screenplays, but it's rather late in the evening, so I leave it to your imagination how can something be stripped of its unique presentation and given a new form, while still retaining its essence. Or something. Or anime audio drama CDs. I need more coffee.
Watched Aldnoah.
I don't expect that to ever happen for RWBY. I mean it could happen, I just don't see it happening.
I just think people should try something new and give it a shot instead of taking a hike after the first impression being an obvious shock to the system.
I notice that most people that down it mention in comments(think Crunchyroll) that they didn't really give it much time, which just leads me to wonder then why they end of reviewing it.
Different strokes and all that though, so its not a biggie. I'm just glad to see it make its way to the East.
Bro... Clannad.. After Story.. it hurts

What does it do differently? Is it more than coloured pictures in motion? Can it do something new in terms of animation, that non-CGI shows can't convey? I'm asking honestly. I read webcomics, and I read some wierd stuff which tries to outgrow its own medium (like how Homestuck has 2d sidescroller RPG segments).
I simply didn't like the look of it in motion (pictures and some gifs of RWBY look cool), I don't have anything against CGI, as my obsession with Tiger & Bunny can tell.
As a little sideways comment:
This years GamesCom was again chockfull with loads of anime/manga cosplayers! Some of which were really, really good.
Yeah, I'm not really a fan of After Story (or at least the 2/3 of it I've watched). *throws smoke bomb*

The show seemingly draws heavily from elements of western and eastern animation, in terms of its humor, its music and its story-set-up, much like Avatar does. Avatar didn't exactly break through though but admittedly, it getting a dub is at least a step forward.
That was my impression personally. The show seems very action and fight heavy to the point of neglecting other aspects of a typical "anime," but that's just based on skimming the 1st episode, I haven't watched the entire thing.
However, it seems somewhat common in other "anime-influenced" stuff to me though, a lot of people are sucked into anime by these supposedly really cool fights but the defining characteristic of those fights to me is they have a specific character and relational context that makes them interesting. Simply copying the fight style without the character portions has traditionally been a recipe for boredom.
