Sometimes characters just may have other intentions than murdering another. Learning information from the target can sometimes be what's really the goal.

To build tension. Plus not all characters resort to murder at the drop of a hat.

 

It's tension of the worst kind. We've seen this scenario play out over and over and over again in every media imaginable. The scene, no, the episode, played out exactly like I've seen before. That's what bothers me: it was predictable, right down to Lisa's kidnapping and the scene with Five showing her student card (I guess Nine forgot to tell her not to bring any identity documents with her). It further shows Nine never had the intention of murdering anyone, not even the one person who'll readily murder dozens or hundreds of innocents just to play a game. That's why I would've preferred he'd shot her, because then we would have seen something different. Then the story would have taken a different path, one that could surprise us at any time. As it stands, I know what to expect from the following episodes. Oh, I'm still going to watch them, but this episode was very disappointing.

I don't really care about him shooting her (I'm sure OdanUrr was joking anyway) but I found last episode's game rather improbable, Five pretty much uninteresting and the FBI to be a total farce. That's just me though.

 

I brought up the shooting because it's basically the catalyzer for how the rest of the episode turned out. I'm also a bit surprised the Japanese police are so ready to let their own people die just to appease the "FBI." Shibazaki had better bring that up in next week's episode.

So picked up Bakemonogatari and it's a rather special show alright. It's without a doubt made itself memorable on a very short time and i'm quite intrigued on what kind of very memorable stuff it can come up with since it's shown so far that nothing is really impossible.

The other show i went with was Squid Girl and that show really does a fine job at being amusing without trying too hard which i can appreciate. After going through Clannad and After Story i really need what Squid Girl right now can offer. Go Ika Musume!

This looks like it was made by whomever made Final Fantasy. Attrocious, horrible, unforgivable design.

 

Also, Seiyas face. That smile makes me want to improve it with a crowbar.

Can't decide if it's good becuase the character is a horrible obnoxious POS so it kinds fits...or if I should be dissapointed they didn't make him more likeable.

I thought about it, because I thought Saint Seiya sounded pretty cool but I didn't find a proper translation/dubbing of the entire series so I gave up. Instead, I watched The Lost Canvas, thinking it would be a nice substitute perhaps, but by the end of the series I'd rather vomit than watch any more of it. 

 

So when I saw the video I was like, well, I guess everything outside the original Saint Seiya just goes to a sad place to die, which is a shame, although since I never actually saw the original I couldn't say.

 

It seems like someone should just give the full original series the DVD/BD HD remaster treatment already.

The biggest weakness of Saint Seiya is the main character.

Lost Canvas has it bad, but it has great art and many great scenes. So LC is actually pretty good, all things considered.

 

Now SS: Omega - now there's a storm of utter bull***. It's insulting my intelligence with such craptastic explanations of things and infantile moral bashing.

 

I'm probably very biased - I wated Saint Seiya with an italian dub, and they did a great job of giving the dialogue a homearian (greek epic) / chivalric vibe.

 

So personally, my order of prefference:

- Original SS

- Neptune and Asgard arcs

- Sanctuary

- Lost Canvas

- Hades

- movies (all of them suck)

- Elysium and Omega

But is it oh so satisfying.

 

Well, at least as one can be without Esdeath, but it was only 18 pages.

Spoilers for Aldnoah's episode 8.

This week's Aldnoah gave me everything I could've hoped for. First, it started with a short flashback of what happened when Magbaredge and company discovered the battleship and how the Princess introduced herself and powered the Aldnoah drive. It also dealt with the fallout of this revelation and even had Inaho indirectly explain to the audience that for all he knew that pilot on the starfighter was simply trying to get close enough to the Princess to finish the job. Meanwhile, Slaine was not captured by the Terrans but by the Martians and silently endured his interrogation/torture (like a champ) at the hands of Lord Cruhteo while Saazbaum kept a close eye on both. It's good that the episode kept me guessing where Cruhteo's loyalties lay right until the end but once his true colours were shown he didn't waste a second to act. While to all appearances it looks as if he was finished for good by Saazbaum's kataphrakt I sincerely hope we haven't seen the end of him. It's definitely going to be interesting to watch Saazbaum try to explain the destruction of Cruhteo's castle at the hands of the Terrans.

I finished Escaflowne, it was good. I thought it stagnated a bit in the middle and I could have lived with a little less romance bs, but other than that I had fun. Plus that soundtrack was boss.
