Good to see you too Rah! I've been putting far too much time into WoW with the next expansion looming in November and thus being a terrible slacker at actually watching stuff despite the fact that my list keeps growing thanks to checking in on everyone's running commentaries.

Had to poke my head back in for more KlK though. :3 Glad to see you guys enjoyed it as well. ♡

It sure can be one massive time sink! Glad that I've managed to stay free from it for a few years now, always a bit of dread when I think about getting caught once more. My list keeps growing and that's with me watching more anime now than ever before, it really is a hopless struggle that take some crazy mentality to even try to fight. I still need to get around to watch Kaiba and Shinsekai Yori..

I might have to give it a bit of a watch this weekend. I've been on a very dark anime kick lately rewatching Psycho Pass, Fate/Zero, and Darker than Black. Might be nice to get some new blood in there.

How is Psycho Pass, out of curiosity? It looks very interesting.

KLK's...

OVA...

:o

Yup. Me too.

Quite enjoyed this weeks Tokyo Ghoul, it was an insane episode that had so many characters that have all completely gone crazy that it was impossible for me to not like it. The episodes did have one scene that genuinly made me shudder and half of it happened outside of the screen but the sound was enough.. The same issues that the show has had before exist to some extent, it's possible that I'm getting immune towards them by now that I've a harder time seeing them. The episode went by quite fast which I do wish I could say more often.

I really enjoyed it. It peaked too early though, the last few episodes are kinda meh imo. Episodes 15 and 16 were by far my favourite.

There's a sort of extended cut thing that's ongoing right now so you may want to wait for that to finish first.

Zankyou No Terror / Terror in Resonance finally returned this week after not having an episode last week. Can't say it was worth the extra wait. Really liked the opening minute or so with the song and all but after that I end up getting so many vibes that I've seen this stuff before in so many other shows that it was no issue at all seeing what would happen a few minutes later. Really hope Zankyou don't go down the path I now see ahead of it..

Everytime I see 5, I think a sheep fell on her head when she was young and it decided to stay there.

Amazing, in my opinion and within my top 3 animes. The main villain stands out as extremely memorable and is sympathetic (in his own twisted way), the whole anime gives off a very Deus-Ex/noir style vibe, and the main character undergoes a very emotional plot arc.

What I like about it is that it presents (what I consider) to be a very believable debate that could crop up with this sort of technology on hand.

My only warning would be is that the anime can be extremely graphic/violent, much more so than Darker than Black or Fate/Zero. The first episode was probably on a whole 'nother level violence-wise than the rest of Psycho Pass, so if you can get past that, it's a bit more digestible.

Aye, Shiro is quite a atypical Harem Hero, but I would classify him as one of the better ones I've seen. His selfessness, while an admirable trait, is quite frustrating to watch considering he doesn't value his life at all. However, due to how it is reflected in the show along with his relationship with Saber, plays a part which makes it a workable character trait. Thankfully Shiro is more mature in his general behavior. Had he been like what 90% of anime/manga protagonists are, I wouldn't have been able to stand him at all.

Yes, Zero is quite excellent. While I found Night to be between good / average in quality, I did fall in love with certain characters (Saber most of all) and the lore, and while I was quite hesitant with the first few episodes of Zero, it ended up blowing me away. I am very much looking forward on ufotable's version of Stay Night!

I'm really curious what Ufotable is doing with Stay Night. Originally, I thought they intended Zero as a prequel and leave it at that, then I heard rumors that the remake will follow Heaven's Feel, then different rumors that it would follow Unlimited Blades, and now I'm hearing it will be its own original thing.

Not sure which way they're going and it's set to launch in October!

As far as I know they plan to do the Unlimited Blades and that there will be a movie about Heaven's Feel later down the line.

Yeah, so I have heard as well. Unlimited Blade Works is by far the fan favorite route in the visual novel, though I have no clue how it differentiates from Faith route, so I'm excited for how it will turn out.

So I fished Gosick.

'dat ending...

So yeah, the anime has its problems, mainly it's the way Victorique comes to her conclusions. She creates plausible arguments from the "fragments of Chaos" but presents little evidence to back them up. Obviously, when they investigate further, they do find she is correct, but being spoilt by A.Christie novels and David Suchet's Poirot, you can see that the comparison I'm making is hardly fair.

However. The mysteries themselves are well thought out.

Gosick's narrative evolves along with its characters and does it just as well. Its beginning sets the foundation for what becomes a Court Tragedy filled with lust, intrigue and murder. Though at times overly dramatic, the ties between the various arcs wraps Gosick's overall narrative into a fine equilibrium of both inner [characters]and outer conflict [setting.]

The romance is done well and gradually develops as the series goes on to reach its climax. Though Kazuya is an absolute bloody baka, he's the kind of baka that won't get to your nerves and is actually quite loveable.

Victorique is a tsundere to the max, but that's not all she is. All the characters have their highlights and some of them are sadly underdeveloped. However, what I'd consider the 'main cast' are well fleshed out (especially Victorique's brother who I'd consider the best written in the anime.)

Overall I'd say that Gosick really is a hidden gem and though it can be just a TAD dumb at times, with one plot (hole/problem/weakness I don't know) that makes me scratch my head, it really deserves at least one full try.

Just for the relationship between Kazya and VICTORIKKAAA (if you're wondering why I'm writing it like that is because I swear 70% of Kazuya's lines are that one name.)

And 'dat ending'...

Good thing I wasn't that attached to the characters or else I might have needed some tissue.

So I think I might just go for a 'classic' and go for Neon Geneis Evan-wahtever.

So, two questions:

Will I be disappointed with the investment I'll put into it? (Because if I do like it I might just watch what's in the rest of that sidebox.)

Is the dub any good?

It's probably the greatest anime that I never want to see again. Take that as you will.

Also, if you watch the whole anime, follow it up with End of Evangelion.

@Dean

There's an anime?

Huh... I never knew xD I've had the manga in my list for some time now, though.

Yeah, there is. If you've read the manga you'd probably be best served just jumping to the first war, and bypassing the coup arc entirely. Once you know the two main characters, the rest flows well enough.

Glad to see that VIIIICTORIKAAAAAA and our dear noble baka got such loving praise. It's hard to keep myself from devouring the entire anime in a go but knowing my bro liked what he saw I'm very pleased.

Hell yeah bro! I think you'll like it just as well as I did :D

Oh btw...

THAT KLK OVA WAS FANTASTIC!

It made me laugh, pumped and nostalgic all to once. It was so great seeing all the wacky crazy things I loved again and god... it was funny.

"I know my weakness better than anyone else."

*pushes the off button*

"And smash!"

That needs a gif, like, right now!

Haven't read the manga YET, but will do soon enough.

Well, once I get Vinland Saga out the way.

Aye. I don't want to explain too much, in case you get really into it and don't want things spoiled. But End of Evangelion, like it sounds, concludes the series. The last two episodes of the anime don't really conclude the storyline, but are kind of a different aspect of what happens in End of Evangelion.
