Depends on what you mean by relaxed, but good ones that I'd categorize as relaxed off the top of my head:

Aria the Animation (and its follow ups, Aria the Natural and Aria the Origination, which are arguably better, especially Origination. But they should be watched in order)
Kino's Journey (can be somewhat dramatic, also not exactly "fun", it's a pretty serious anime overall but a great one)
Mushishi (Like Kino's Journey, pretty serious)
Azumanga Daioh
Nodame Cantabile
Chihayafuru
Natsume Yuujinchou (again, a few episodes can be a bit dramatic, but they're the exception)
Shinryaku! Ika Musume

And that's all that comes to mind for now. Hopefully there's at least one in there that you haven't seen already.

 

Azumanga Daiyoh is the only one there which actually sounds familiar. The other ones... Not so much, though there are bells being rung. I'll look into some of those, thanks!

Don't know what you really mean by 'fun.' Even when it's just fun anime can be over the top.

 

Just go for Gintama. It's 265 episodes plus a movie but it's some of the most fun I've had in anime.

 

 

 

And of course, there are arcs in between that last for four to maybe even seven episodes which are awesome and full of the best action I've seen since Samurai Champloo.

 

And since it's basically a parody of typical shounen and doesn't take itself seriously, you don't have to over think things. Just let it be as it is xD

It can make you laugh, cry and jump out your seat in excitement in a freaking single episode. It literally has everything except for romance.

 

However if 265 is too much then there are plenty of others options.

 

I'd recommenced Silver Spoon or Bakuman, they're some of the best 'slice of life' animes out there. Silver Spoon is shorter and is yet to be completed, but has two seasons and its 24 episodes in total. You can see the rest in the manga (which is still ongoing.) Bakuman is a lot longer with 24 episodes per season and three seasons in total. The manga's done and tbh, I'd say the anime is better than the manga because it skips this one useless arc that had no relevance anymore. It also fleshes things out here and there.

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita, aka Humanity Has Declined, is pretty relaxed in its own odd, sugar-high, sometimes morbid sort of way. I say that as a contradiction, but just think of a particularly turbulent wave pool and a girl lying in the middle with those arm floaties snarking about how she wishes the water would calm down already, and then her wish is granted and the water becomes sentient and depressed. Those are the sort of adventures of the rather fatalistic hero in JwSS-- despite the crazy stuff going on around her, because of her personality and her role as a more passive (sarcastic) observer, resigned to humanity's ridiculous fate, the show actually has a pretty laid-back feel. I have a bit of a soft spot for the show, as it's one of the more unique and entertaining ones I've watched.

I mainly decided to watch it after coming across its ending theme (music-related, as usual), which is also pretty unique and, after watching it I can say, actually encapsulates the feel of the show pretty well.

just rewatched Gurren lagan :P

 

samurai champloo was awesome too

 

but I could never get into Naruto and one piece just wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many episodes for my taste

Shinryaku! Ika Musume / Squid Girl is one of the more easygoing and relaxing shows that I've watched.

It really is one massive hydra, for each show i finish there're at least 3-4 new ones added to it.

Akame ga Kill Episode 10 was awesome as well. The show has been very solid so far and I get the feeling it will continue to do so.
