It doesn't mean I can't re-watch it and appreciate it in the future xD
In the end I've always blamed myself for expecting something else. I've never thought that Paranoia Agent was bad at all.
As for anime that might catch your eye...
Have you watched Shinsekai Yori yet?
I think that's one definitely for you.
Ooooh, films :-/
Yikes. I can't do them unless they're at least 2 hours long or some extension of a series.
For me they go way to fast. I'm starting to like a character then BAM, the credits roll.
That's what I get for watching tons of series and anime. Last series I watched proper was Bones and Breaking Bad. Well... GoT, but that's like obligatory watching for me since I'm a huuuuuuuuuuge ASOIAF nut. Even if some parts are 'meh' compared to the books, it's still gorgeous.
Breaking Bad tho'
Want to get around to Vikings... and what the hell am I talking about again?
Oh yeah, Shinsekai Yori. I think you'll enjoy that one.
If one has watched Breaking Bad, then it's an obligatorigal duty to watch The Sopranos or The Wire.
If you want some suggestions of excellent movies that derive away from the Hollywood tropes and instead seek to strive for deep and compelling storytelling devices. I'd be happy to oblige with some.
As for anime -- The thing with anime is that I find it difficult to get into some because usually they don't have what I'm looking for in an anime.
I'm finding time to get into Count of Monte Cristo, which is looking very promising now though. There's also an OVA, only high school boy and his girlfriend who's been called into an intergalactic war in space -- It elaborates on the effects of such a long-term relationship, where the premise itself is sort of overly-eerie-fantastical, I think it's acceptable because it drives the plot quite neatly, which in of itself is what I believe is among the most important things about a show's premise/setting.
