And lol @ Ghost in the Shell. Yeah, people on the web tend to recommend for everyone into anime, so decided to see for myself what the fuss is all about of it. Gonna be interesting.

 

Go for dubs if you like. It's great. Actually, it's amongst the best.

 

Unless you prefer subs. It's your choice :-)

 

As for taste. It's not a bad thing to be picky, however, it can ruin things that might actually have some great points to it.

 

For example, a flawed anime: Neon Genesis Evangelion.

 

If I were to wrap up its over-arching narrative, I'd say it's some of the most disappointing stuff I've seen. It starts off great, but then declines with its budget and focuses on something completely different and ends up with a laughable conclusion to what started off as a brilliant story.

 

However.

 

If I were to give up on it, I would have never explored (and appreciated) just the amount of depth there is when their focus turned to the psychological state of Shinji.

 

Sure, it ends horribly, no story should end like that.

 

But the psychology is so fascinating you can't help but be amazed by it. But if I were to be picky, I'd write it off as a load of garbage just because of the complete abandonment to the overall narrative. Thus, I would lose out on something really great.

 

Of course, there are some things I will forever brand as 'not worth it' simply because the bad outweighs the good so much that it's pain to watch/play/read. Say, ME3 for example. It's Tuchanka arc is brilliant but everything after has more holes than a block of Swiss Cheese. It has its finer moments too, but overall, because of those holes and weaker points, it becomes something almost unplayable to me.

 

But that might be because I'm a HUGE Mass Effect fanboy :D

 

But enough of my nonsense.

 

Go watch Ghost. It's seriously a great watch and something I think you'll love A LOT more than Gintama :) it seems to be more of your thing.

I've watched both (albeit just a little from the subs,) the dub is more informative and gives a clearer view on the politics and operations.

 

But the sub VA is great as per usual.

 

Oh and yeah, they so totally do it.

 

I get the giggles.

 

I'm such a romantic when it comes to these things :D

So yeah, this Gintama arc was funny, but one thing (and I've mentioned this before to Chewin) is that Sorachi kind of sucks when writing about women. Which is fine. Not everybody can do that.

 

So I was expecting some sort of silly message at the end of the gender bender arc.

 

But nah, I'm actually proud.

Exactly what I like to hear.

 

Men and women are people. That's the most important thing to look out for when writing different genders.

 

This goes for women authors too.

I started watching Naruto and it's amusing judged by 4 episodes I've watched. So far Cool X-jutsu moves, explosive birds (and stuff!), Master Kakashi and Sand-jutsu-boy are the most interesting elements of Naruto. The soundtracks are very good too.

I'm 20th with 240 posts. 

 

I needed to watch the basics like Naruto, One Piece, FMA, DBZ, etc. before watching Berserk, LOGH, Black Lagoon and other deep stuff! But I watched anime in a mixed order!

So far I'm 70 episodes in Naruto and it's really good.

 

But warnings from everyboyd and their dogs have told me it only goes downhill from there :-(

 

Well...

 

As long as Kakashi, Gai and Lee are around I'll make it.

Your pretty much at where I considered to be the height of the series although it doesn't get top bad during the next arc. It's sometime after episode 100 that it pretty much just descends into a pointless filler fest, and at that point I'd just skip to the next series when he's older.

Lee and Gaara had one of the best fights in the series. Been ages since I've seen it and I still remember and like it.

Yeah, my buddy told me we're gonna skip the filler. Hopefully Shippuden isn't that awful, I'll just expect... well, I'll just like it for what it is, even if it get silly at times.

 

And yeah.

 

Lee is men and his fight with Garraa was so manly I swear I put on like 20kg of pure muscle just watching it.

Fun fact: Peter Cullen, the voice most associated with Optimus Prime (G1, The Movies, Cybertron Games, Prime) did the narration for Voltron.

Never seen the show, but what I do know is that it was a mash-up of two different Animes done for the western market.

It also, like other popular 80s shows had a rebooted series recently called Voltron Force that ran for 1 season (At least Thundercats lasted 2)

I can give you a link to listen to Attack On Titans english dub. I think it varies between dub and sub. Some is better dubbed, others like Attack on Titan, is best subbed. 

english dub for aot is terrible.
