So far I'm 70 episodes in Naruto and it's really good.
But warnings from everyboyd and their dogs have told me it only goes downhill from there :-(
Well...
As long as Kakashi, Gai and Lee are around I'll make it.
You still have a ways to go, I'd say. Though I think the search for Tsunade Arc is probably the height of the original series. Be careful though. Eventually you're going to reach a point after original Naruto's story ends, but you'll be faced with about 200 episodes of filler. At that point, just skip to Shippuden, which has been really solid until recently (imo).

Lol not quite 200. That would've been horrible. There's only 220 episodes. But yeah, episode 135 is the actual end of the series with everything afterwards being pointless.

If two episodes caught my attention then four episodes have more than just grabbed my attention but also very much my interest and desire to watch more!
Both episode 3 and 4 had an incredible amount of information to take in but I managed and the way this world so far has been explained is genius! How they explained we got from the world of 2011 to the "new world" and exactly how some of their "rules" in society was formed and on what basis. Genius, just genius! Not to mention the sound effects so far has been almost one of a kind. The art stand out and really help adding to the eerie feeling I've had since the start. Stuff can go so awfully wrong in their world

Kakashi becomes useless and sort of not useless at the same time.
Like I said he pissed his pants at Orochipedomaru yet after that he fights even with a ton of guys at the same rank. Made little sense to me.
It came off that Kakashi was a pro ninja ace but not a Kage level ninja.
And that's another thing. Sim get ready for Kage level characters getting killed by rookies left and right.
As for Hinata you may as well forget about who she is.

Shikamaru was possibly my favorite character.
And yeah the 2nd series of Naruto is decent imo (not much more then that though, I'd give it like a 7/10 maybe a 6 because of my bias against longer animes but either way no where near Bleach's level of stupidness) I doubt you'll notice a significant drop in quality compared to the series now so it's all good.
You may wake up to me dumping a book about Saki onto you Sim. Warning you now just incase..

Shikamaru is a boss, no question.
In a weird way, he reminds me of Jean in Attack on Titan (no spoilers) . Both have this bad habit of finding themselves reluctant leaders in conflicts they usually would rather avoid. But that's not to say Naruto is anywhere in the same league of Attack on Titan.
