I hope you're only saying this due to lack of context.
I wanted to agree, but you mentioned DBZ. Now take this!
*tries to break your heart hard*

Not in top 20 DBZ characters and still better than your last two anime shots!

Nahh DBZ is a legend and all, can't diss it or anything but...

This Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is adorable.
Y-you can't really compare the two?

You mean Nozaki-kun isn't a martial arts shonen?

Wait until Episode 15-25

Referring to SAO?
If so, I'm almost done with the first season (breezed through the entire season in two days, so yeah, I was bored and the anime is that good) and have to say it kept delivering.
If SAO II with its GGO and Underworld arcs can deliver on the same level, I have one of my all time favourite anime, right alongside GitS:SAC and Black Lagoon (yeah, it's a pretty exclusive club at the top).

Needs more ki attacks.
That can blow up planets.

Yep.
Show lost me with Kiritos ever increasing harem, insanity, and blandness. The forced incestuous love triangle. Turning Asuna from a badass into a constantly molested Damsel in distress.
Boring political subplots that add nothing to the show, and are kinda stupid when you realize it's a bunch of nerds arguing over pretty much nothing, and in the grand scheme of things is just filler filled with flat characters.
Fairy Dance killed my enthusiasm with the show, SAOII may be better. But I haven't worked up the nerve to watch it.
If you enjoy it, more power too you, but I unfortunately can't.

I never thought it qualified as harem. I had more the impression that it's a constant assault on his emotional integrity. First LI dies, leading to massive survivor guilt, second LI gets friendzoned but starts a longing, primary LI makes him imagine a life within the system, then that hope gets squashed with ensuing reality (physical body, etc.), then they go on fighting, end of first arc and even more survivor guilt, then more emotional distress with the mentioned triangle.
At least to me, harem is something lighthearted and even though this show has its moments, it's anything but that. So at least for me personally, it never crossed into the stereotypical harem category.
I also found the whole LI/harem analogy hilariously self-reflective on how I as a BioWare fan, with their games and all those romance subplots, think on it. It appeared quite self-conscious to me, even though that latter part is probably just me projecting a lot into it, but I found it refreshing.
And all that aside, it's still a decent action anime with lots of geeky tongue-in-cheeks to the gaming culture, which was what I came for in the first place.
So far I kept liking it, even though I have no problems to admit that the Aincrad arc is by far better than the Fairydance arc.
And what I am mostly hoping for in SAOII ... lightsabers, gunfights and (almost) genderswap protagonist (the latter of which again sounds like it could strike the note for me as a roleplayer who likes playing as female characters just as much as males).

Hmm I definitely wouldn't put it next to GitS and Black Lagoon lol.
Maybe ahh, Guilty Crown and Futury Diary. Future Diary being better and Guilty Crown, maybe the same or worse.
Oh and Log Horizon, also better.

Well, I said that would be the case if it keeps delivering as it did earlier. As it stands right now, it's good, but out of the two arcs from SAO I, only the Aincrad arc is truly phenomenal.

Well I'd say SAO2 is about as good as you could expect SAO the anime to be, so if that was totally your thing, you don't have anything to worry about then.
SAO2 is better than the horrendous alfheim business but not as good as the original arc. Mostly due to it being hindered by the typical problems that had been building up over time.
Guest_Puddi III_*
I dunno if I'd say not as good, apparently the original arc skipped boatloads of development while SAO2 is actually taking its time a bit, at least that's what I've heard. Like this PTSD that came out of nowhere, shouldn't have actually been out of nowhere.
As far as harem problems, ehh. If you been watching this long and haven't stopped and aren't inured to it yet, not sure what you're doing still watching it lol. At least be like geth and tell us how much it sucks and we suck while pretending you don't watch it while you download the next episode in a private browser window. But yeah it's still kinda dumb like that, for sure. Not as bad as elf land, but that **** has been going on since Aincrad too.
Oh I do still enjoy it. It's a solid 7/10 anime. It's just nowhere near as good as it could be hence why i'm so harsh on it.
I've heard the latest Naruto and One Piece seasons are pretty good. Sadly it takes years to reach those seasons even with skipping the fillers, because I'll most likely watch other things after I reach the fillers.
SAO2 has done better than I anticipated that it would do and so far taken the best out of the light novels. Very curious on exactly what they'll do in episode 15-24 but I can't really remember anything from the light novels that would make me fear a new alfheim. Nothing sound as good as Aincrad but that's a damn hard order to top to start with.

Ain't he dead?
Well thanks for spoiling that.

I know hating on SAO is sort of the popular thing to do since it's so inexplicably popular in lieu of its utter lack of story telling quality, but if I'm being completely honest, I'd say so far season two is closer to a 3 or 4 out of 10 than a 7. I mean, if a 5 is the average fodder, a 7 represents something relatively good. SAO2, at least in my own opinion, is nowhere near "good", and definitely below the standard in terms of story telling. Art and and audio don't really mean much to me when every five minutes some enormous leap of logic or glaring plot hole arises that totally pulls me from the experience.
Perhaps the only thing that I can say is on par with its sh!ttiness this season is Tokyo Ghoul. But even that had a pretty good first episode.
But enough about that. Have you guys practiced your Yosakoi yet today?

The "what do I seek in friends" part is scary cos it's pretty much me.

Well I tend to be overly nice on things unless they really rub the wrong way (see alfheim) so that's why I give it a 7.

Mirai Nikki is crazy as hell and fun with the most adorable thing I've seen since Hinata...and crazy too. But adorable non the less. And though it does have its fair share of plot holes at least the characters are good enough to hold their own (except for Yukki is can die.)
Guilty Crown is like a washed out wanna-be Code Geass that can't even explain its own nonsense. The only really good character is Gai and maybe Shou when he decided to put a scarf on.
But it has a kick-ass soundtrack tho'
But not a better opening than Mirai Nikki xD
Watched up to 10 episodes of Ghost in the Shell: SAC and so far it has been a mixed bag for me.
While the animations is certainly meritorious (which surprises me considering it was made back in 2002) and the musical backdrop is great and fitting, my main gripe with the show so far is its general structure. The show is apparently built up with focusing mostly on the Laughing Man case, and filled up with single episode narratives. The Laughing Man scenario has certainly proved to be interesting thus far and I get the feeling these first few episodes is only the build up for later episodes wherein the arc starts to take proper form, or so I hope since these first few episodes have been very thorough and subtle on its approach, giving decent time focusing on events taking place now, what lead to these events, who were involved, is it connected in anyway, etc. That one episode within a chatroom was great, how it was solely focused on the Laughing Man and how the characters went back and forth with the identity, motive, history, and more. It is in the Laughing Man case where this show shines since it is given the time to properly focus on it and fleshing it out to its extent it wants to and needs to cover, which makes it both smart and complex.
The one-shot episodes are however quite a let down. I would be perfectly fine with these episodes if they were to fully serve a purpose--expanding on the perception of the universe and the setting, further flesh out the supporting cast, bring up philosophical questions and ideologies--but to be frank, their execution ranges from decent to poor. The universe is still confusing and I get the feeling one is supposed to come into this show after having seen some of the previous movies. The show does a poor job on the characterization department, with little to any at all, and when they do get some they are simply touched upon. Even Kusanagi, who gets most screen time isn't that much of a character to praise about. So far, she has mostly proven to be a badass squad leader, but that's it. When the show does bring up questions regarding its universe, e.g. with the ever so old "human or not", it hardly gets any real focus other than a brief mention. The stand alone episodes seem to serve more as a spotlight for action scenes, which are great, but the stories in the episodes tend to be rather boring or suffering from a decent execution.
So far SAC has left a lot to be desired. I hope that the Laughing Man arcs continues to deliver and hopefully the stand alone episodes gets better.

Wow.
That's the first time I've ever heard anybody say something like that about GiTS
