I saw my brother watching one of the latest of Digimon seasons and I only could recognize the main protagonist (The brown hair boy), everything was dumbed down from monsters to story. I was really disappointed.
Digimon season 1 did the artstyle and animations properly (the character faces could be better, but the monsters are designed very well). I like similar stuff.

For a good amusing example: Episode 20:

Wow... the sub version is extremely superior!

^MAH CHILDHOOD!
Still have fond memories from years back when they first aired Digimon on TV. Good times.

Sounds reassuring. LM case has proven great thus far and I hope it continues to expand and deliver.

Yeah, from what I recall it's all about the LM case by the end of it. I think you'll like the conclusion of it.

Incidentally, what kind of stories are in your preference, Chewin?
I kind of figured you had the same taste as KoP.
But that's cos you have his old avi and love the Witcher 2 (well, everybody should, because the Witcher 2 is awesomesauce.)

I have generally quite a broad view when it comes to stories, there is not something I require for me to enjoy a story. It is more important that the story is multidimensional in its approach: involving several aspects that correlates with each other in momentous ways and ultimately completes itself in the narrative that it set itself unto. Of course the more intriguing and complex and the more "adult" it is in its approach is always fun, but not something I need for it to enjoy. As long a story is solid in its approach, build up and execution, doesn't devolve or loose momentum, I am more than pleased.
So basically it is more in the lines of how any form of entertainment proceeds in its general execution that it sets itself into, and of course what my expectations are before I enjoy something.

Yeah, finished DRRR!!
Beautiful ending, just like Baccanno since it leaves you satisfied for what it is and leave it open for more. So I can't wait for S2.
The dub is also brilliant with Lelouch playing the magnificent bastard once more and a whole bunch of other familiar voices. It's always nice to hear a good dub.
But yeah. A great story with even better characterisation for all the cast. Not one of them disappoints. Even the 'lame' one is above decent.
So now for the next watch...
I can't wait any longer.
Time for some motherf*cking JoJo

That's a great way to look at things.
It's no wonder you enjoyed Spice and Wolf as well as what you've seen from Gintama.
I hope you'll like GiTS' latter episodes. It really is by far one of the more 'adult' animes out there, so I was surprised by your post.
Hopefully my recollection is correct, because I remember the latter episodes being superior to the former. Why? Probably because I remember watching those with more enthusiasm (shorter breaks in-between.)
Oh, and here's a terrible song made good.
Saying all that...

It's waiting...

@sim
Thank you. Yes, I don't tend to restrict myself, and I can enjoy Gintama for what it is. But just like with that show, which is rather lighthearted and "stupid", when it gets serious I tend to get more cautious since I am afraid it starts to loose its momentum and whether what it will do is necessary for the show. Thankfully it has been just great thus far. I do indeed hope SAC gets better, since it has the potential for it.
And oh my God at that video! I was surprised no one had done that one before. That really made my day.

I was wondering what are these flashbacks for? Am I missing something? So I just realized I'm watching Naruto Shippuden after watching 8 episodes. *fail*

Well yeah, that's because the military's in ME are all a bunch of idiots. I just found there speech giving skills to be equally awkward and hilarious, in regards to Shepard.

What makes that speech good in LOTGH is Yang is not rehearsing a bs speech from the politicians. He's saying something from his heart, something that during that period in the show was very rare. That's why the soldiers loved what he said, because it came from his heart and was not a bunch of bs a politician told him to say.

Mirai Nikki is crazy as hell and fun with the most adorable thing I've seen since Hinata...and crazy too. But adorable non the less. And though it does have its fair share of plot holes at least the characters are good enough to hold their own (except for Yukki is can die.)
Guilty Crown is like a washed out wanna-be Code Geass that can't even explain its own nonsense. The only really good character is Gai and maybe Shou when he decided to put a scarf on.
To be clear, I was saying Guilty Crown is about on the level of SAO, not Future Diary. Anyway,
You mean when Shoe becomes Suddenly Jesus? That's the worst part of his character, how can you have such bad taste???
As far as Yukki goes, he's one of the characters where I separate whether I personally like them and whether I like them as a character. Shinji needs to get in the f***ing robot and stop b****ing but I could understand why he doesn't. Carver in DA2 is a douche but I like him as a character. I don't think Yukki is that bad. His development at least is more natural than Shoe's.

Dunno.
Scarf shoe was cool.
I didn't really pay attention because Guilty Crown wasn't doing much for me in any way. It tried to be smart when it wasn't and it tried to be deep when it couldn't. Then the whole magical part to it was the worst explained part of the story. Well toooooo baaaad because it was like, the most important PART of the story.
And about my taste...
Man, that's harsh, especially since we both love JoJo
:'-(
Yukki is a ******. I don't care how messed up you are, at least Shinj had a reason to be. But Yukki had a great mum and an arse of a father. I know many kids with those.
Not to mentioned that arse...
No matter how solid his character may or may not be, my dislike for his character makes me so bias that I just can't bother with him. It's my fault, I fully admit that, but dude...
Funnily enough I preferred Shinji way more.
Maybe I should rewatch it with a new perspective.
