So far this has my favourite cast. You can't go wrong with Joseph AND a cool main protagonist (yep, I like Jotaro.) They've all pretty much done 'their part' (apart from Joseph, and I reeeaaaly hope he steps up his game with some ripple powers.)
Though I think Battle Tendency's plot is 'better' (In the sense that it's more unconventional and goes places you wouldn't think it would) this is turning out to be a cool adventure with a 'stand of the day' vibe going on. I do hope it turns to other directions as it goes on, but anyway, it's been a blast so far.
Finished Madouka Rebellion. Well my initial reaction was to both cry and throw a computer at someone. But afterwards I did enjoy it. Dunno what got into reviewers heads when saying it was "meh"

Next up gonna watch this show...
Reviewes are baka.
And that's a huge contrast.
But I guess everybody needs their 'KissxSis' from time to time.
Enjoy your ecchi.
I know I do.
Seriously, anime women have spoilt real life women for me.
My friend has a project coming along and could use the info for his research.
Anyway joking aside, got a bit bored out of GitS and spent time watching Gintama instead. Managed to convince my brother to give it a second go and he is already up to 26 episode in one day. Didn't expect that. Though I feel obligated to finish SAC so should probably get to it.
Lotion Soronarr, Saber Wolf, Paragon Gabriel et 1 autre aiment ceci
I think reviews are fine but it depends on the person doing the review and how well they can explain why they feel the way they do. There's certain reviewers I can disagree with but still understand why they're arguing a certain point (like Total biscuit)
It's important to know the criteria of the person reviewing it. If someone loves anime's like Bleach or Fairy Tale then they probably have different tastes then me so I'm less likely to listen when that person tells me that something is worth checking out unless they give me a specific reason that appeals to me.
I've heard some reviewers rag on KLK which I can understand and I don't think they're wrong for feeling that way, I just feel differently then them and enjoy that type of anime so I'm less likely to take that persons opinions into account in the future with those type of shows since I know we'll probably disagree.

True. And yeah, it was a weird choice, but after watching Madouka I have had a new way of looking at animes and not judging them by their cover, so gonna see what kind if echi anime is. Hey, at least they can be fun and lewd.
And lol at anime women. Though as a girl, I can't really comment
Name of show?

lol Smooth.
It is Highschool DxD. Doubt you would enjoy it. I mean, your friend that is...

Very true. It is often very very hard to be objective about something, especially anime since the variety is so big. I used to judge animes such as echi and animes like Madouka for little children or creepy people, but boy was I wrong. I would slap my past self if I could.
Caught up with Akame ga Kill! and I have to say it is my favorite anime I've seen (or at least have been so far)!
I really love the design, visuals, soundtrack, characters, the action scenes, everything. Especially like how the "villains" are given proper characterization and not all are "MWAHAHAHA EVIIIL". Hope the show keeps at it and only improves as it goes along. A part of me wishes I wouldn't have seen this show yet so I could enjoy all 24 episodes when they are out.
Finished Spice and Wolf, and I have to say I greatly enjoyed it!
As an economic student and history fanatic, following Holo and Lawrence on their journey and actually delving into economics, trade and peddling in a very sophisticated and astute way was really intriguing to follow. The writers knew what they were doing and didn't try to simplify it or make the viewer to be stupid. Also, Holo and Lawrence is seriously my OTP. Their relationship is also very well developed, something I never guessed would happen, and I am glad it did. Was indeed as most people pissed about there not being a Season 3, and no plans for one. Good thing there are visual novels, gonna buy them ASAP.

For science...
On the anatomy of women...
Of boobies.
Shame about GiTS. I was sure you'd love it for its politics and philosophy. 2nd GIG is my favourite though, definitely more political and I prefer the villain there, even though he's more conventional than the Laughing Man who really isn't all that you might think he is.
Good to see you like Gintama.
Gintama is perfection.
It's safe to watch these vids.
And you know what's funnier? This dude is Gendo Ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion.
@Jerome
Light Novels you mean, no?
I haven't heard of no 'visual' novels!
@Isi
The thing with most reviewers is that they don't understand the meaning of subjective. Or rather, they aren't very subtle with the fact that IN THEIR OPINION so and so is disagreeable with them. They either try to be too much like Yhatzee (who does it for the lolz) or be all smug about it.
Nothing is more excruciating than having to read through five pages of fancy prose from some pretentious snob who likes to nitpick at every single little thing to the point that probably nothing could be enjoyable ever again.
I like reviewers who understand that even though subjectively they don't enjoy something, objectively it's solid and well written. There's a balance, a 'yes but no but' in where you can happily acknowledge the opinion given for its validity and respect to the topic under review.
How to differentiate between subjective and objective?
Simple.
There are underlining principles that determine whether something is well written or not. Stuff like consistency and solidity of narrative is but a few of them.
Take for example, my recent discussion with Puddi on Mirai Nikki. He was right about how Yukki certainly does develop and act with a certain consistency and I countered that despite that it's hard for me to appreciate any of it due to my undying hate for the character. My opinion was subjective whilst his argument was backed by reasonable evidence to support his conclusion.
So if your complaint about Rebellion's ending is that it didn't fully satisfy you, then that's fine. You felt it was too open, that it didn't tie enough ends etc etc... but don't go raving about it's sooooooo OOC when there are two films and a twelve episode series that give you undeniable proof that, in fact, it totally isn't.
Man, this is far too serious a thing for me to post. It's out of character.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it! Rebellion really is something else and I'm really happy that I've chosen this thread to gather opinions and feedback about what to watch and not. So far people like Isichar has pointed me at PMMM and now SSY. Sim has given me shows like Death Note and Jormungand. At least half of the shows I've watched have been recommended by the people here.

Just wait, he has his moment. (well, not counting that every episode is his moment whenever he shows off his English cussing skills)

Isi is the PMMM instigator. It was three posts until this default avatar dude came to me and said PMMMMMMMMMMMMMM xD
Soon enough you'll have to watch PMMM, JoJo and LotGH/FMAB to be able to even post.

Precisely.
On the matter of SAC, it is a bit hard fo me to be invested in it since the political and philosophical factors in the show so far have been subpar, but that is mostly due to it only being played on the underlying surface of the plot and has not truly developed into anything significant yet. I still have 16 episodes left so there is plenty of time for it to flourish.

Well, hopefully you'll get what you're looking for those next 16 episodes.
The only thing that I can recall really well is that it's final episodes are pretty intense.
Hopefully more SAC fans can clarify this.
And jaysus H christ, the noises coming from outside my home sound like a freaking excorsim is taking place ><

To be fair, it was a Mass Effect 3 special edition EXCLUSIVE avatar (in retrospect I regret even getting that tbh..)
And yeah, you pretty much couldn't get anywhere in conversation with me until you watched PMMM back then. I'm a bit more relaxed about it now that a lot of people have given it the credit it deserves, which means I can focus my spamming to lesser appreciated series like my Shin Sekai Yori
It's a bit sad that the episode that I had the least against and the episode I enjoyed the most was the last one. This episode continued on the absolutely insane torture to Kaneki but this time Rize bombared Kaneki's mind aswell and really tore everything that he held dear apart. Over the episode we got to learn a lot about Kaneki's mother and a bit about his childhood and generally why Kaneki is the person that he is. For 11.5 episodes Kaneki has been hard to tolerate but it was after this episodes transformation and change of attitude that I finally could tolerate Kaneki. He's a very different person right now and while I really feel for him and all that he has been forced to endure I can only say that the "new" Kaneki can lead to more interesting moments in their screwed up world.
Now for a final review on Tokyo Ghoul. It is an interesting world and with some interesting potential but in the end this show might be one of the most disappointing ones that I've watched since I picked up anime again in April this year. Besides Kaneki being very boring and uninteresting for almost the entire season the show also suffer from quite a bit of censoring which lessen the effect of what could've been a strength for this show. The side characters of the show are alright but really not that spectacular and while a few stand out I can't say they'll be remembered compared to the other shows that I've been watching this season. The art and animation are both solid but neither really stand out either. The soundtrack got a few good songs but not good enough for me to actually want to listen to them outside of the show.
Tokyo Ghoul is a show that just doesn't rise above mediocre often enough for me to feel like I could recommend it to anyone. It got maybe 2-3 episodes that I can say are decent and that're far too few. This is a show that should only be watched if you're low on stuff to watch or just want something that's closer to garbage than the critically acclaimed shows that often get mentioned in this thread
