Tokyo Ghoul last episode and final opinion below

It's a bit sad that the episode that I had the least against and the episode I enjoyed the most was the last one. This episode continued on the absolutely insane torture to Kaneki but this time Rize bombared Kaneki's mind aswell and really tore everything that he held dear apart. Over the episode we got to learn a lot about Kaneki's mother and a bit about his childhood and generally why Kaneki is the person that he is. For 11.5 episodes Kaneki has been hard to tolerate but it was after this episodes transformation and change of attitude that I finally could tolerate Kaneki. He's a very different person right now and while I really feel for him and all that he has been forced to endure I can only say that the "new" Kaneki can lead to more interesting moments in their screwed up world.

Now for a final review on Tokyo Ghoul. It is an interesting world and with some interesting potential but in the end this show might be one of the most disappointing ones that I've watched since I picked up anime again in April this year. Besides Kaneki being very boring and uninteresting for almost the entire season the show also suffer from quite a bit of censoring which lessen the effect of what could've been a strength for this show. The side characters of the show are alright but really not that spectacular and while a few stand out I can't say they'll be remembered compared to the other shows that I've been watching this season. The art and animation are both solid but neither really stand out either. The soundtrack got a few good songs but not good enough for me to actually want to listen to them outside of the show.

Tokyo Ghoul is a show that just doesn't rise above mediocre often enough for me to feel like I could recommend it to anyone. It got maybe 2-3 episodes that I can say are decent and that're far too few. This is a show that should only be watched if you're low on stuff to watch or just want something that's closer to garbage than the critically acclaimed shows that often get mentioned in this thread

Do I recommend this show? Not. A. Chance

To be fair, it was a Mass Effect 3 special edition EXCLUSIVE avatar (in retrospect I regret even getting that tbh..)

And yeah, you pretty much couldn't get anywhere in conversation with me until you watched PMMM back then. I'm a bit more relaxed about it now that a lot of people have given it the credit it deserves, which means I can focus my spamming to lesser appreciated series like my Shin Sekai Yori

Do that, you got hundreds of shows that you'll like more and it's not like TG will suddenly vanish if you one night drunk beyond human means need to watch something.

It was not easy to watch it all the way but I've yet to drop a single show that I've picked up and while it was very close a few times I managed. Suppose I just had to see if something was waiting in the next episode. Also yeah I keep hearing the manga is much better, House has been pestering me about that since the start so might actually give it a chance to see how much better

Episode 9 of Zankyou no Terror was so intense. Episode 4's password/motorcycle scene was my favorite of the season by a good long way, but the explosive vest scene from episode 9 was just wow.

Takanashi Rikka Kai: Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Movie really tell everything from Rikka's perspective which honestly isn't a must, mostly watched it afterwards to see how different it was.

The other stuff is cute stuff that really doesn't matter at all.

This weeks Zankyou was very good and did take things in a direction I didn't entierly anticipate and then did a few spins on a couple of things. Sure they had a bit of that hilariously awful english added into this episode aswell but I'm once again very interested in Zankyou and the last episode got the ingredients for a very bombastic finale
