Good, goooooood. It is always nice to see more people enjoying and getting to know the awesomeness that is Spice and Wolf.

Pretty ironic, since it actually is.

 

Up to 16 episodes of SAC and finally the show is starting to glow. The politics are starting to play a lot better now and the socioeconomics are developed and put into the limelight a lot better than previous episodes. Now I am enjoying this a lot more!

Seriously though I haven't watched much this season i've been busy with older stuff. I'll probably catch up on all the summer stuff later.

 

I wouldn't say Glasslip "sucks". It has a very P.A. Works story. Love triangle vibes, melodrama, a "new guy" character with a European nickname, etc. And that's a good thing, since PA always seems to handle those elements well. Problem is, there's more than that. There are a lot of sub plots that don't get fleshed out, and large leaps in progression occur that seem to make little sense. The show is directed in such a way that you feel like every thing that's going on has a purpose, which is good, but often that ends up not being the case. In a way, it feels like another slight disappointment from P.A. Works, Angel Beats!, in so much that had it had twice the episode count (or even just a handful more), it might have been more fleshed out and easier to get invested in.

Ah I get what you mean. I'll probably still watch it but will wait a while before doing so.

I'm watching One Piece season 1 in my free time and so far it's been quite funny. Naruto should wait till the first original two seasons is downloaded which will take such a long time.

It was one exceptionell episode and it will be fun to follow the effects from it. It was a perfect mix of all the things that make SSY stand out. Also the use of colours and shading was more than just impressive, especially at the scene towards the end of the episode.

Saki is one of the sweetest characters I've seen and it's impossible for me to not love her and really want the best for her. That said her thirst for knowledge is unmatched and considering the amount of dangers she's ended up in so far.. she got guts!

Saki remains my favorite protaginst in anime ATM. I admit in large part due to her actions at the end of the anime.

I swear, Joseph Joestar is the most glorious thing written ever. Not only is his Engrish amazing, but his Arabric (Arabic) even better. Since I'm Gibraltarian, you're bound to know a few words and ROFL, his 'hello' was just...

You are in for a treat. It does get better. And I do recommend that you start on the second season of SAC (called 2nd GiG) since I think it is more up your alley, Chew. It is a lot more political than SAC, and focuses on ideology better than SAC did.

Well I don't know if girls have it worse when watching anime, or at least I have seen more girls. Maybe I am just watching the wrong shows...

 

Highschool DxD is pretty funny. I had my fair share of laughs and some lewd scenes is always nice. Need to start watch FMAB when I get the chance. Probably after DxD, if I don't jump the gun on something else entirely.

Saki is awesome. Though not my favourite I can count amongst the favourites. But in terms of writing, she's easily there with the top three, perhaps the best female written character I've seen in anime.

I like the moral characters when they are handled properly and don't just come off as blatantly preachy or idealistic (like Eternal Sonata which had me puking by the end because of that) and I find Saki to be one of the best in that sense. She isn't perfect by any means, she is still very human (which ties into her being well written IMO) but I have a great deal of respect for the decisions her character makes and the type of future she strives for.

Thinking about it I would probably have a much easier time going into my top antagonists in anime then my favorite main characters but I'm sure she would be my number 1. It's surprisingly rare for the main character to be my favorite in a show for some reason.

I think I remember someone dissing GitS's 'case of the week' story structure, but I scribbled over the username of that memory and wrote "you suck >:(" underneath in as childish of a font as I could manage.

 

Well it is largely known by people that the stand alone episodes was the weakest part of SAC. They were not horrible in any way, but neither were they particularly good either.

It's really not bad at all. It's just incredibly average in every way besides the OST which is really good. Not a bad watch but there's so many other anime's I'd recommend over it.
