Just like watching Fairy Tail lol

Hey, at least it's not like Bleach where it can't go 2 pages without making me roll my eyes at the sheer stupidity. There's really not much negative I can say about the series, it's just not my cup of tea because it's long and a bit too light hearted for my tastes but at least it knows what it is and is able to remain consistent which is more then I could say for Naruto.

Fairy Tail is the type of manga/anime you can skip entire arcs and not miss out on a whole lot, which makes it a good one to casually check out from time to time for me.
Probably would have been in my top 3 if I watched it when I was younger.
Younger? The anime's only 5 years old. Your tastes were that different 5 years ago?
Fairy Tail is a mixed bag. It has some powerful arcs, nice bonds with people and rather good morals that are taken up, but the show is repetitive as hell! It's very cliched with cheesy, overused dialogue and typical characters you'd find in your usual shonen. Character development is very poor. Most of the time, the one who is always in the limelight is Natsu, the overpowered, hotheaded idiot friend who everybody loves so much. I mean, sure the other characters get to fight too, but they always get the ones who are sidekicks or followers even if they are characters who are supposedly stronger than Natsu. Just ugh!
One can see that Fairy Tail bares striking resemblance with One Piece. The latter however does a better job at it than Fairy Tail, but that is my opinion. It is not the worst thing you will see, but there are plenty of other animes to watch.

I would actually be surprised if someone didn't have. Of course, that depends on how old you are right now. I myself didn't bother with anime and found them to be for kids or mostly males when I was 18. Would totally slap myself for my ignorance back then.
EDIT: Though if you are referring to one having watched animes for example more than 5 years, not that surprising to see one opinion change on what they enjoy and not enjoy. After getting a broader view on watching different animes, my interest has changed quite drastically.

I don't remember many instances where Natsu triumphs over the strongest person out of a particular set of enemies outside of Jellal and Brain though. Oh and Hades but he had massive help there. The thing I've noticed about Fairy Tail over Bleach and Naruto quite easily is that the main, main character is not always in the limelight just to be in it. The other main characters do get their time to shine where it makes sense.

10+ years and counting. My tastes haven't really changed. Expanded. But not changed. I still stomach or scoff at the same kind of shows I watched as a kid.

My tastes have changed in the last 5 years but that's not what I meant. I mean I would have liked it a lot more as a kid or teenager. I was about 15 when I got into Naruto and Bleach and I thought they were the coolest things ever back then but now neither would even hit my top 50 list.
Ah, gotcha.
SSY keeps on throwing ridiculously good episodes at me which is especially impressive since episode 10 was as strong as it was.

Well I never finished Fairy Tail so I guessed it changed during the later arcs, but this was usually the case with Natsu in almost every arc. Eh, personally I found Natsu stealing the spotlight most of the time. The side characters have their own, but are overshadowed by Natsu's quite easily.

Got up to episode 5 of Terror In Resonance and heard perfect English. I thought I was tripping for a second.

Fairy Tail is the type of fantasy shounen which desperately needs a darker and grittier reboot/deconstruction. At it's heart it's basically an adolescent power fantasy, yet another shounen in which youthful strength of will leads to one-sided beatdowns after a meaningless exchange of blows that never puts down the protagonist. The world primarily exists to be rescued by the heroes, villains are made to be defeated to show off the protagonists' powers, and anyone who gets in the way of the heroes is either villain or uselessly stupid. Great magic powers of massive destructive power are freely weilded, but pretty much no one gets seriously hurt or maimed to speak of. Naturally, rules are for loosers and stiffs.
It's pretty much pokemon levels of serious, despite the occassional attempt to throw in drama or emotional angst (which of course gets reversed and resolved with the happy ending soon enough).
If I had my druthers, some global effect would reduce the power limiters on spells. So the next time our favorite fire mage fries a room full of people with dragon fire... he really fries them.

Does it really? I'm sure other anime fulfill the purpose you eloquently go into here.
Another Stand?
So are Stands going to be the norm from now on?
Yes. They are the main power fighting thing of JoJo and one of the many things JoJo is famous for.
@Fairy Tail talk.
It's a bland and horrible series and worse than Bleach.

I agree with J.Reezy. Dark and gritty is the type of fantasy I prefer but I don't necessarily think every fantasy should be like that just because. It's good to have some balance between the serious shows and the more light hearted ones.

At least Fairy Tail isn't trying to be deep and dark. Fairy Tail knows what it is, Bleach just comes off as being incredibly pretentious anytime it tries to deliver a message.
I know it's funny as f**k.
That's more than I can say about FT and its nothingness.
And Hierophant don't get me started on how it deals with its female characters. lol

@Geth Ikari - Am i the only one who's worried about the Nanatsu no Taizai anime adaption? Especially after what A-1 Pictures did with Magi? Hopefully they stay faithful to the source material, and don't create a craptastic finale like the Toriko anime.
Sketchy anime adaption incoming? They better not.
