A-fucin-men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eh, I'd be willing to pass on it.
On a personal plus side, it seems like Aldnoah will be one of those series that gets an awesome amazing headcanon re-write in my head. I do that from time to time- turned Tiger & Bunny (a series I loved greatly) into a darker and edgier reboot of the series and some of its themes of the superheroes and next, made a time-loop version of Persona 4, and of course there was that whole Renegade Reinterpretations thing...
Personally I think the writers missed the boat with slain when they killed off Crueto when he was on the cusp of turning against the conspiracy. While it did open the door for the real mastermind to emerge and be developed as a compelling character in his own right (no, seriously- that was a good villain who was a person as well as the bad guy), I think the nominal themes of the show would have been supported more had it turned into a Martian civil war between the conspirators and True Knights, with Earth struggling to stay relevant in a fight that transcended its abilities to determine the outcome.
Of the nominal themes of the show (racism, colonialism, and of course the whole 'Let Justice Be Done Though The Heavens Fall' principle), that plot twist was the one where they really went away as far as I was concerned. I was really hoping that non-consequentialist ethics and pursuit of 'justice' would be a theme of the show, especially for the martians, but ultimately the racism was pretty banal and kind of silly. Colonialism just got lip service, since the feudal mentality of the conflict never got explored or even fleshed out. How are the martians 'ruling' their territory, if we're supposed to believe that the HQ base may have the last living terrans to prevent extinction?
No, the epic/macro story should have embraced the drama (and difficulty) of the Earth trying to cope with Crueto (and other Knights) basically doing their own thing and starting an inter-martian conflict that the Earthlings are caught in. It'd be a big case of an awkward/desperate alliance- the Earth needing the reprieve and help of Crueto, but the whole martian racism and just-invaded-with-nuclear-landings thing still on the mind.
The princess tour boat could still do its thing for plot building, with the first major changes being in the battle in Siberia, but the S1 finale being the breakout of the civil war as the last ditch effort to kill the princess before the truth really gets out is fought in Siberia.
100% agree. Cruhteo would have made an interesting ally for the Terrans with a lot of insight into Martian military tactics.

Just sayin'
Dubs from BONES are usually perfect.
It's not from Bones is what I'm saying. Funimation dubbed Soul Eater

Ahh, so dubs from funimation are perfect then, like Soul Eater and Attack on Titan. Yes, this is true.
Of course it was!
But I hope he gets more 'moments' like the others have had. Each other dude has had their personal triumphs against the other Arcana- I mean Stands.
Like the Sun Stand. That was b*llsh*t tactics in the works, and Joseph is the master of BS tactics xD I wish he was the one to notice before everyone else.
What's funny is that episode did give us three of his best quotes(best variation of two of them too)
Josephs engrish is fricken divine.

Well, somehow by coincidence the dudes in Funimation thought "you know what? Let's create the best f*cking dubs in existence when it comes to stuff from BONES."
Weeeellll....
At least when it comes to Soul Eater, Ouran and FMAB.

Joseph's Engrish is how it was spoken during Shakespeare's time.
We're just poor imitations of the real thing.

One thing I will praise Aldnoah is Saazbaum. He turned into such a fantastic character.

Only when Laura Bailey is in them,
Only when Laura Bailey is in them,
Travis and Vic too.

Travis and Vic too.
Yeah they're pretty dope too.

Only when Laura Bailey is in them,
And anybody else from FMAB.
I think they used Travis for that one dude with the arm in Attack on Titan, from the very first episode.
Just something anybody should know.
You do NOT use sexy manliness like Travis for a minor side character who appears once.
You use him for anything that is supposed to be manly and menly or maenly.
Because Travis' is masculinity given voice.
Personally I can't wait till the anime does part 4 and 7 of JoJo, along with Battle Tendency(part 2_ 4 and 7 are bt far my favorite. Plus part 7 has second best JoJo!
And anybody else from FMAB.

Travis really should have been Levi. Nothing against Mercer, but he just does not capture the character.

Oh and they should really just hire L's dub VA for everything from now on.
It's the only reason to watch Death Note's dub.
Seriously, even Persona 4 was a massive homage to part 4 of JoJo, that's how good it was.

JoJo is so awesome. Even Gintama had a piece of it.

Really without JoJo, anime, jrpgs and even Street Fighter would not be what they are. So much influence. So great ![]()
Also JoJo being big again always warms the heart.

Probably one of the better villains of the year, if anything. I like how he was self-aware but trapped in his own bigotry: he knew he was raised in a mockery of a feudal culture, but at the same time could not escape it or its mannerisms.
Can anyone else think of any good non-bizzaro villains of this year?

Good this that total sociopath was around to show me this
Watch that scene where Dio kisses her.
It was where I fell in love.

I thought Ragyo Kiryuin was pretty good.
