What happened to hating things that try to be "deep" and bigger than what they are?

I just ignored the storyline and enjoyed the action.

Too rapey and most of the characters annoy me. I just love the actual matches themselves.

The one with that dude who adapts to attacks (the "I understand" dude) was freaking insane.
