Eden of the East is cool. It has a few sequel movies and the dub is decent.

But sh*t.

Bro...

If I recall (which I usually don't)

You haven't watched Cowboy Bebop yet, have you?

This time the old man remembers correctly, I've yet to watch Cowboy Bebop! There are still a pretty large amount of very acclaimed titles that I've yet to watch. I keep watching stuff and everytime there's a new classic waiting!

Newest Koe no Katachi chapter (54) has Shouko sign her heart out, even with an injured arm. It's been building up to this for so long. I don't want to wait for 1-2 months for this series to reach its conclusion, I need even more catharsis

Then I sincerely hope you'll go for Bebop next. It's due time you watch that piece of genius.

It wasn't.

I like smiles and flowers all around. The only reason I come here is because it's NOT like the BSN.

Baka :D

Good morning/afternoon/night to all of you

Ah so that was the name of the manga! I recall seeing it a while back but the name slipped my mind. Will absolutely put it on the manga list for the coming time when I'll without a doubt start reading manga aswell!

@bro

We'll see! Got a few shows of varying popularity that I'll be considering but Cowboy Bebop is a show I do look forward to watching

You should :D

Is that a good romance manga?

It's a really good manga, though the tragedy element is slightly stronger in it than the romance. There's a little bit of Oyasumi Punpun, a little bit of Aku no Hana in it.

It was going to happen and it finally did. Started reading a bit of manga aswell! Started with the first manga that I apparently added to the list a while ago, Franken Fran. I can't exactly remember why it was added but it was thanks to some show I watched at some point during summer.

Will not be reading much during October at least since it's by far the busiest month of the year for me. A chapter here and there should be possible!

Not decided yet on what to watch after Toradora or SSY but got Cowboy as back-up in case I don't find anything less well known. Do want to spread these acclaimed titles out a bit.

I swear bro's like the CEO of Samsung or something xD

But man, you should watch Bebop xD especially for Edward, the most adorable thing in the world :D

@No Pet/Vroom Vroom.

Yeah, episode 12 was really sweet. I still don't enjoy the more dramatic "feely" moments, they don't hit me as well. Probably because my standards for drama have been raised so high with After Story and Anohana.

I don't know why I feel it's nothing special. To me, it doesn't do much wrong, but it also doesn't do things right, it kind of falls half-way. Some moments are nice, and then, there are others where you just look awkwardly at the screen because "really? You're getting like that for that?"

So far the side characters have stood out more than Kanda, he's kind of bland in a way. Hell, I'm rooting more for Misaki and Jin than the main couple :D

Misaki is awesome.

And so is the shut-in with the reeeeeaaaaalllly long name I can't spell.

I liked Steins Gate well enough.

It was fresh with how it handeled time travel and the story was better (and made more sense) than most anime out there.

Do I need any other reason?

I think Isi's case with Steins' Gate is similar to your case with KLK.

Both of you don't really understand why it's as popular as it is :D

As for me.

I'll kill anybody who insults Yang Wenli.

I've already killed my brother.

With a spoon.

Steins Gate's artstyle is fine. I may give it a chance when I finish the other +10 anime on my watch list.

Nope. If you started calling it a masterpiece or an anime that every anime fan must watch I'd probably ask you to expand on your thoughts a bit more.

As it stands I enjoyed the anime too. It gets a 6/10 from me noting that the final 1/3 of the series did drag the score down a a bit.

<Spoilers> I'd still say Moeka, to be honest. Of course, we already talked about that. I think just from your perspective it was about how overwhelmingly fragile and psychotically devoted she was from the downsides, but I think I just looked at those same qualities with some degree of interest and fascination. It's kind of a weird analogy but <spoilers> in Valkyria Chronicles Selvaria was extraordinarily devoted to the emperor Maximillian because he saved her from kind of the.oppression, and she romantically fell for him, such that she ultimately was willing to commit suicide for his cause. It's a kind of devotion that is sort of crazy but also kind of fascinating. I feel like Moeka is in her own whole world, and I'm straining to find her attention but because she is so distant I'm like whoa now I want to now about her even more. There are obvious dangers but also incredible strengths in her character, and there was also a kind of a necessity factor in her case.

I re-watched some random Stein's Gate amv to make sure I still thought it was pretty cool, honestly, it is kind of tame in many ways I think because it's so directly referential to things like memes and cos play, it's artificially been given more credence. I'm sure there are a decent number of actual scientists who are anime fans into Gurren Lagann or something, but this is like they're literally showing scientists doing science things and so they're throwing logic out the window and pinning it as #1.

Overall, I would probably put Stein's Gate around 10-13 or something, not #1. Something like Geass would crush it.

Yeah I can see why you'd feel that way. I just feel the exact opposite because of the extremes they take all of her introvertintrovert qualities. It's a bit frustrating because as an introvert I have many of those same qualities, but nowhere near to the extreme of being willing to do what Moeka did for the reasons she did.

It is a serious time travel story that at least attempts to be self consistent with it's rules which I can respect even if parts did end up feeling a bit weaker for me in terms of execution.

I did think the overall tone and art style was great and that's one aspect this series would get a 10/10 from me.

Haha oh Bebop will be watched for sure however this time I'll be going with Chihayafuru. It's one of the very first shows I ever put on the list. It's the only one remaining of the first 10 shows! Always been something else that's gotten in the way for me to watch it and after hearing so much good about it I'll give it a try!

I knew it was dangerous to start with manga aswell! Franken Fran constantly make me want to read more and more!

Better tell me how it is, and I might stall my re-watch of GitS a little longer ;-)

Haha I knew you'd like that! It's not possible for me to stay away from shows that get that kind of appreciation, I just NEED to see it all and since it's fresh compared to what I've watched lately it's even more welcome

@bro

Will do!

I'm tempted to watch it even more now just to see if we share the same opinion. I usually like the things you do, so it'll be interesting.

Berserk is like the best thing ever (besides maybe PMMM :D) the best part is your pretty much still on the prologue. Things haven't even really started yet.

And yeah go for it and watch Steins;Gate. Like I said it's certainly not a bad anime. I'm sure at the very least you'll like it. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on my specific points of criticism.

Thing with time-travel stories is that... well... I'm not good with them. I had to LOOK UP Mirai Nikki to see the holes in its story because I completely missed them all.

Time travel does not work well with my brain xD

But yeah, I will give it a shot.

And if this is the prologue, I can't imagine how good the rest will be.

It's not too bad for plot holes overall. There's a few times you have to be willing to go with the premise but I'm OK with that as long as the story is self consistent with the rules it's set forth which Stains;Gate is. There's 1 part I felt the story bent over backwards to make something which shouldn't have happened happen just for the sake of fan service but I'm not sure I'd call it a major issue or anything but I'll talk about that after you've seen it.

There's only one word to describe Berserk properly and that is "Epic"
