I'm going to come out of Berserk feeling like a wimp. Nothing anybody will do will compare to the amount of manly that is Gatts.

Reminds me, I've heard (read: read) some rumors that following the GuP movie that's coming, a second season for the anime is supposed to air shortly thereafter.
Hoping those are true.
Also hoping the second season would deal with a more advanced tank technology (say Cold War era tanks, and a third season goes for full on modern tank goodness!).
So far my experience with Ghost In the Shell really vary a lot depending on what the episode is about. If it's about the laughing man case it's engaging and absolutely worth the time to watch and to think about what happen in the show. If it's about standalone episodes then I'm more uninterested than anything else and sometimes wish I was watching something else. Really hope more focus is put on the laughing man case further in because then the show can get far more attention from me.
That compared to Chihayafuru which so far has managed to not slip up once. The "weakest" part of it was perhaps 1,5 episode in the beginning because it needed to explain and showcase so much that once the playingfield was set everything turned awesome or better. The serious way it deals with Karuta and how to improve as a player is something that I've not before encountered in shows before. Like in the last episode I watched Chihaya learned from the beginner Kana that really understanding the meaning of the cards can bring her an advantage.

It's hard for me to not just love her character. Saki better watch out because Chihaya through her own path is up for the challenge!

Probably after.
You should see how my roommate treats his girls, how pieces of **** like that are able to get into a relationship in the first place is beyond me.
I listen to him scream at his GF almost every night for 10-15 minutes about what a stupid worthless C*** she is because of things like putting the lighter on the wrong side of the table or opening the window without his permission and then turn around and keep crying (literally) about how in love she is with him. It makes me sick to my stomach tbh. And the moment I try and say anything differently I get torn to shreds and told I don't understand their love, which is something I'm actually greatful for.. I don't want to understand it.
So your roomate was a berserk manga character!? Jeez, I thought I had it bad. I had a roomate who watched Dane Cook every other day and frequently had his shirt off to view himself in his own personal mirror.
If it's one thing I had to criticize about Bebop is that the 'plot of the day' format doesn't give enough time to develop some of these plots and side characters and they sometimes come across as a bit shallow or cliche (yer a dirty cop, ___). Others like Darker than Black or Black Lagoon had each plot be at least two eps generally, which I think may work better overall. I think GitS may have also had a bunch of one-off episodes, but I don't remember ever feeling this way about it like you guys do.
Cowboy Bebop had absolutely perfect style and atmosphere though.
I'd take Lagoon over Bebop, honestly.

Careful.
That's like saying Jesus was the devil back in Medieval Europe xD

When I re-watch GitS I want to see how they go again.
Chewin pretty much confirmed my 'recalling' in that the LM case becomes much more focused in the latter half.
Revy is one of a kind, all there is to it.

Be careful what you wish for. I doubt she'd be gentle.
What are you guys talking about? She's definitely the girl you take home to mother. See she's smiling

The softness behind the madness

Headshot?
Headshot?
Or stick the hot muzzle up yer you-know-what.
Most people find that hot.
There are some Anime girls you bring home to mother...
Then there's Yuno Gasai.

I think Revy's the hottest anime character there is.
Except for L..
And of course this babe

I always stand on a fence with her.
I either love her to bits.
Or hate her guts.
I think I'll go for the former.
Because I'm dumb like that.
She'd probably like your guts...here, there, and up there.
She scares me ![]()

I'd just tell everyone she's batsh*t crazy behind her back and to accept her.
Oh, she'd scare me to.
But she's a babe so I can live with sleeping with one eye for the rest of my life.
She'd probably like your guts...here, there, and up there.

Like Nui?

Yeah.
@Fidite
I can understand, I get the same way half the time I watch a segment from Fox news. According to them I'm just a sociopath using games as an excuse to train myself to kill.
Anyways I'm all for dark senses of humor and being inexplicably drawn to the macabre, and I'd gladly argue against anyone who felt those type of stories didn't have any value. I love having something dark to scratch that itch I think most people have to some degree or another, especially when it's handled well like in Dexter (the first half at least) or in works like H.P. Lovecrafts stories. The manga me and Sim have been discussing, Berserk, is very much like that as well. I'd imagine there are people out there who would think me sick for being able to enjoy this series, let alone loving it to the extent I do.
@Rah
I like Chihaya a lot except I think she has a terrible habit of forgetting the people around her *cough Taichi *cough* the moment Arata is even mentioned. Although to be fair she does have some really sweet moments with him too, but I'm not a fan of the "true love" sort of angle their going at it with Arata.
Would it be weird if I said I'm almost rooting for Arata/Taichi? XD I *really* like their dynamic.
