Finished Sword Art Online.

Was it good? Not really. Did I enjoy it? Well kinda. There are animes that I consider crap and would never watch again or finish, but SAO is one of those rare ones that I could see myself rewatching. I don't think I can say anything new about it than what has already been said, but I think I enjoyed it mostly b/c I knew what I was getting myself into and could overlook the flaws. Might start with SAO 2 when it has finished airing.

The localization team added it. Like how the team for Sankarea added the abysmal "Undying love" subtitle to the manga, inciting my gag reflex every time I think about it.

 

But I'm just excited to see the best arc from the manga animated, le this one:

True. It is interesting to read people's opinion on SAO, especially on Crunchyroll and how much praise it gets there. I can see why, it has drama, romance, action, mystery, and much more featured in it. Sadly when one delves deeper through the surface one notices the lake is not that deep.

Just wait until you watch Season 2. I'm finding some of what I'm witnessing hard to believe. As in, how did an editor see this and give it the green light to be published?

Well that is a shame. I was under the impression that season 2 was generally more well received, even by people who found SAO to be complete garbage. I wasn't initially interested b/c it inkoved guns and 1 vs 1 battles, but if it is even worse than season 1 then I might as well skip it entirely.

It has one or two decent points. The antagonist has a cool design, and his speech pattern is interesting. In honesty, he's the best thing about Season 2 so far. But the writing is so poor that it's much harder to ignore now. The leaps in logic, the self indulgence, it's all a little annoying.

It's alright. Though not as good as the first arc and the writer's obsession with rape is getting worrisome. TBH i'm mostly just watching for Sinon.
