It's also why I love his final choice. It's so against his ideals, it's such a contradiction but never would I ever thought it OOC.
I wish they developed his affair with whatshername. It was understandable seeing Irisviel's role in the Grail, but it made it rather superficial. It would have been nice to explore it more.
Franken Fran is the manga that can totally now be said has made me want to read more manga than I got any reasonable chance to do. Also it's really something rather awesome to read a bit every now and then.
Spoiler
Love make people do crazy things, like being completely alright with a second you that you later want to kill but later for you to survive needs to be combined with you
Glad you reading Manga, bro.
Just one thing. It'll eventually get as large as your frickin' anime list.
Oh and another...
That sexy ass Dragon is from Berserk...
Just to let you know xD

Sim speaks the truth! Manga and VN's are a whole other beast on their own. Your list will double in size in just a few days when you start adding them on XD
I'm thoroughly convinced that when the time comes to start tackling Berserk, I'm going to hnnnnnnnngh way too much over the art. The non-spoiler pages I've looked at from both Sim and Isi totally made me asifhoafhowr. Yusss, this is good.
Now for the main reason I wanted to poke my head in here. On Tumblr this morning, a clip was posted with little snippits of dub Ragyo, Nui and Tsumugu:
I have to admit that while I'm still super biased as far as Ragyo is concerned (and of course I'll have to actually hear more from her in dub form), the actress they chose didn't make me twitch at all and pretty much decided that they chose well. I'll poke my head around the dub as they get further in and even if I have the Romi bias as perfect Ragyo, it was nothing like checking in on SSY's dub which made me want to die. I say that but as far as the latter dub is concerned, Saki, Mamoru and Shun were fine. The main ones that made me twitch were Maria and Satoru (waaaaay too nasally on both which made me a little sad face since Monica Rial voiced her and I'm usually pretty happy with what Monica does).

I've heard some of it... and it's... well, decent.
Terrible would be AoT since all its good actors are outnumbered by the bad 4 to 1
So I won't be having nightmares listening to that, but it's not as good as FMAB's xD nothing is as good as FMAB's dub
@Puddi: Did it? Huh, weeeell that means I'll have to go hunting for it then. I did some quick searches around while having my coffee this morning and couldn't find anything solid at least on YT besides that so I'll just go put my detective hat on and look harder. 'Not bad' is pretty much exactly how I feel from what I've heard of it. I admit overall I am biased to the original cast but I have no desire to claw my eardrums out when listening to the dub so I count that as plus.
@Sim: It does! I've only really poked around past the first time skip so I can't comment on the older voices. I'm really hoping Satoru's doesn't stay as nasally. @_@ Greg Ayres voiced him and off the top of my head I only know him for dub Kaworu in NGE so I don't have a ton to compare him against.
After listening to Ryuko in the dub for a while, it actually felt weird to me hearing her original voice actor. Then I felt terrible for a while until I got used to the original VA again.

Maiya? I do agree that it could have been explored further, but the relationship is quite adamant, albeit a subtle one.
His connection with Maiya is closer than the one with Irisviel and a lot more different, which has an underlying meaning. Kiritsugu's relationship with Irisviel (and Illya) brings forward his sentimental side (which he considers a weakness) and his relationship with Maiya acts as a counterbalance for his emotions--considering that Maiya is portrayed as even more emotionless than him. It is a very twisted relationship, since it is not a romantic one in any way and he views Maiya as nothing more than a tool to be used for his purposes. I also got the feeling that his sexual relationship with Maiya is simply a form of self-abuse to steel his nerves while walking down his path.
@sim, from what i hear the PS2 game was average. Good graphics for it's time but repetitive gameplay. The 90s anime's art was meh while it deviated from the Eclipse Arc in that it excluded that gorilla apostle who was hunting the Band of Hawk while it ended directly before the Skull Night saved Guts and Casca. The films that came out a few years back had beautiful animation and they are more faithful to the manga, but they only follow the same arc that the anime had covered. Watch if you're able to.
Couldn't have said it better myself, Chewin. But one more thing.
I feel there's another element to his affair and that's probably something he'll never admit to himself. Comfort. It's clear he cares for Irisviel and especially for his daughter. So it must be salt on his wounds to know that eventually, she will die and there's nothing he can do about it other than use her as a tool for the means to his end.

I might be wrong, but one of my buddies said there was a film coming out this year too.
I don't know... I'm new to this wonderful thing called Berserk.
Man, it's like a bl*wjob left halfway, what the hell is wrong with you people?!

True, which is why I love the dynamic behind it all. Even his last words to Maiya was "You'll die here", but I loved how he betrayed his true emotions when he started to cry.
