Ghost In the Shell has had 4 rather solid episodes that has not been about the Laughing man case so it seems to be more about what kind of issue they deal with that matter. The last two episodes were very Batou heavy which might make me appreciate them more than I'd do otherwise!

 

If you feel so inclined, please share your thoughts on your general impressions of the Laughing Man case as a whole when you've finished S1.

 

On an unrelated note, who is that blue haired chick that I see continuously being posted here? This thread's ultimate waifu? Kinda dig the design.

So my rewatch of GitS is going good. I gotta say though, that I love both the Stand Alone and Complex episodes. I guess it's because I have this love for the cast of Section 9 from my watch a few months ago. And though they aren't as deep, they do flesh out the setting and there are some pretty sweet moments (like theatre one.)

 

I think the problem lies in the pacing. The LM case does overshadow the rest in quality, so when you have 3 great episodes like 4, 5 and 6 (the 'Decoy' Arc) you want to know more about the LM case but instead you're left with a Stand Alone episode. I bet at that point you don't really want something not LM related.

And as the Stand Alone episodes vary in quality quite greatly, sometimes ending up with astute episodes that adds layers to the world, and others being rather poor and mostly existing simply an action fest. Not that I am complaining on said aspect, since they generally tend to be solid throughout the show.

The good thing is that from what I recall 2nd GIG took this in mind and the Stand Alone episodes are far better there. But this is from what I recall, and I can barely recall yesterday xD

 

As for Akame ga Kill?

 

Sure, it's a fun anime and has a great cast of "villains." They handle this 'antagonist' group the "Jaegers" really well. Simply put it, they aren't really villains and more like an opposing group with their own problems. Hell, the nicest guy in the entire freaking anime belongs to the Jaegers xD

 

But it also likes to kill people heheh :D

 

I'd say go for it if you want a good shounen with a fun cast and a super-sadist who's actually a terrible person that you will instantly fall in love with :lol:

Always nice to have more individuals enjoying Gintama. It is a nice leisurely watch but doesn't shy from being serious when it needs / wants to be.
