What I like about Yang is the fact that he acts nothing like you think he would. He's lazy, socially awkward, can't cook, complains about his government at every chance yet the man is very smart, he holds to his ideals, is funny and is a fantastic leader.

His nonchalant behavior along with his analytic mind and love for history certainly helps in that regard.
Plus he's just sexy man, admit it.
ETA: In addition, I also love just how his charisma stems from something opposite of Reinhard's. He's humble and acts as everyone's equal. He hardly pulls rank for people to do things for him. People follow him because of his competence but as well as his ability to empathise with everyone. A Private could stand next to him and will never feel overshadowed by his presence. People are drawn to him naturally. The man defies the 'hero' image. He can't fight, and he sure as hell doesn't fit the role of some big name Admiral, and yet, he's more a hero than anybody who could fit that description.

I really like Yang that he is a very relatable and sympathetic character and seeing the world through his rather politically uninterested eyes, and experiencing the plight of the governing figures as pariahs through him is rather intriguing. Additionally he comes across as someone intelligent and knowledgeable which helps make him a very established character.
Reinhard is intriguing as well in a different way, and mirrors Yang quite astutely. Unlike Yang, Reinhard is proactive. Reinhard is not content with letting the war come to a close and simply leave it at that. Rather, he's adapting to a new world, whether one agrees with him or not. While he is intelligent as well he utilizes it more creatively--using his cunning and manipulative mind to achieve his goals (at least that is the general impression I've gotten from him).
Watching these two clash with each other and their own problems is certainly the show's highlights and I am glad that it is so well written and can't wait what more is down the line.

I only have 8 episodes left! It's just horrible to even think about it! At least the last episode did show me exactly why so many episodes have been brilliantly used on the team tournament. I really, really, really feel for Oe and Chihaya. There are hardly anything worse than suffering from what they do when playing any competetive sport but in this case it's not entierly awful for Chihaya since it very much highlight that she's the beating heart of the team. That she's the endless source of passion and energy and that's exactly what Mizuzawa need to use if they even want to stand a chance against Fujisaki. Also her fighting as hard as she can during the circumstance looks to me to be exactly what Nishida need to break through the wall that's been holding his karuta back since he reached class A. Taichi can absolutely win his match if he just gain momentum. Komano and Akihiro.. well they can always try!
Also Shinobu watching the game is slightly suprising but very much welcome but I did notice her being sleepy from more than boredom and that she did sneeze. Given her awful time with the weather a few episodes ago that would lead me to believe that she's closing in on a fever and even Shinobu will be affected by that in the individual tournament. The two people I like the most and they both obviously had to suffer from something at the same time!

Shinobu is just too awesome. She hits that sweet spot of being innocent and yet kind of a ****** at the same time which works rather well, sort of what you'd expect from a prodigy who's skills are naturally above that of those around her. Plus she is drawn to cute things which make me smile. I like her relationship with Arata. He's one of the few people actually capable of dealing with her in her own terms and I think they do a lot to help each other break out of their shells.
Your right on about Chihaya being the heart of the team. I think it's pretty obvious she's the main reason Taichi plays, and also the one who convinced Nishida to start playing again. I doubt the team would have ever even happened without her.

The fansub group that seems to be doing the best job for the NnT anime uses the name chyuu. Though the FBI group with translator Obama-kun gets points for lols.

I wish I wasn't only coming across the wackest of NnT subs. I'm not watching this show with lazy translations. Dudes out here got subs refering to Elizabeth as "he" and "she" in the same sentence. Who the f*ck does that?

Since I barely understand any Japanese, my main metric for whether a sub is good or not is whether the lines make logical sense from one to the next and whether the English itself isn't total ass. Like I said it seems like chyuu is doing a good job, plus matching what little Japanese I have figured out. Like when the girl says "*kid's name* no baka" and Obama translates it as "you asshat!" I'm like, wait a second, I know what baka means...

But it actually fits better.
There's only so many times a shounen can say "bastard" without it going dry.
It's funny when you know what they're saying but the subs is saying something different. But it's Japanese so I can be wrong. Gintama can read as "Silver Soul" or "Silver Balls" xD

I'm glad this isn't just me. I remember when i first saw "F*ck" in the Naruto and Bleach manga. Pissed me off. Still pisses me off. No way would people in those series use sentence enhancers.

Robert McCollum is probably the main reason why I'm enjoying Psycho-Pass's dub. Dude has an epic voice and he seems to have a habit of voicing the calm, cool, and collected type of characters. Just realized he voiced Shinobu Sensui in Yu Yu Hakusho. I always liked that guy.
