 Okay, I play as a female Shepard, since, I am, well, a female.

and I just hate the romance options.

I'll break it down. 

Garrus:
I love him, he's a good sniper, loyal, had your back from ME1-ME2. 
Funny as Hell. 
Only one I actually will want to be with in the third one, other than Kaidan. 

Moving on...

Thane..
Ugh. "my wife's dead and I have a long lost son that kind of hates me. Oh, I'm also dying." 

...How enticing. Tell me more.

Jacob:
"I ****ed Miranda." 

Great...

I didn't particularly like FemShep's romance options in ME2, either.

Male Shepard got so many options..
Three completely different type of women.
and Kelly, the bisexual.

I liked the romance options that M!Shep had a lot more than the ones that FemShep had. I still thought that Garrus, Thane, and Jacob were decent enough characters and Garrus is basically always one of my squaddies, but... eh.

I miss Kaidan. Even though he dumped me on Horizon.

Weird, I liked FemShep romances more then ManShep's.

Nope you're right, no one could tempt me away from Kaidan.  I agree though the LIs for femshep do suck in ME2, Jacob is boring and the aliens are butt ugly. It doesn't seem fair that manshep gets blueskinned supermodels while we get a dinosaur cat thing and a bug eyed lizard man.

Statement: Ugh, romance. Only good for having someone to comfort you when in pain. Worthless feelings wasted for no particular achievement, other than making yourself feel better.

Thane was..okay. I only had one character romance him.
It was just..so..boring...

The only thing that's okay about that is..let's say you cheat on Kaidan with Thane. Well, Thane is dying so maybe he'll be out of the way in time for ME3!
Then you get back with Mr. TallDark&Handsome.

A lot of people do dislike the romances. I like all the romances in ME2 and I know a lot of people who do like them. Actually, I think the only romance I really dislike is Liara.

It's impossible to please everyone and put in something for everyone because not everyone is the same. The game has 9 choices as it is and honestly I'd like to see more non-romance characters with some depth going on that people can't say, you'll like them better if you romance them.

Characters should be able to function without being a romance option.

I thought Femshep got screwed (excuse the pun) when it came to romances in ME2. I mean Thane's just meh, Jacob's ... well ... and while Garrus is cool, I dunno, the romance was pretty shallow (then again he didn't get much dialogue regardless, ending up with the dreaded calibrations mid-way through the game).

Not officially, but he does say that if he was interested in humans, he'd be interested in Shepard.

I didn't like Jacob at all.He was too "G.I.Jane" for me,so of course i didnt even think of romancing him.Kelly was too ugly(sorry kelly fans) and Garrus..well he was awsome,but as a friend.Funny and loyal and all that(i did romance him in one playthrough,his dialogue was too damn funny,but damn..only thinking of (...) with him...bleah).So all i have left is Thane,which i do like but yeah..boring and he's dying..wtf kind of romance are we left with

Yeaa, if half the LI's for male shep where as alien looking as the ones for femshep
I'd be disappointed as well. I mean, I get that we all live in this huge galaxy with millions of aliens but come on, only humans are playing this game, and to go after some thing as alien as femsheps LI's is just wierd and makes it hard to really connect with with. at least with Liara she looks human enough to where she could all most be a human with just like make-up on. Or maybe im just wierd like that, I don't know.

Yeah they all were lacking something to me (even male Sheps options). I felt the same way about the LIs in ME1 though so *shrugs*.

Hopefully the third time will be the charm.
