And it's usually as bad as the Templar vs. Mage argument with people taking it super seriously.

I'd've used this screenshot, myself.

Really captures his "should I rape you, kill you, or give you to my vivisectionists for experimentation? Decisions, decisions" look.

Well the Geth were sort of children. At least very unexperienced with anything that the Quarians didn't teach or upload on them. It is a bit unfair to treat them like they should know what they were doing when they had no information about morale or laws or whatever. After all their own parents wanted to murder them.

@Magitek

Arguably, ignoring the council and letting the geth be could be seen as the smarter choice. They'd almost certainly be exiled (Like they are now), but they wouldn't be slowly going extinct. A stretch, but they could still live on Rannoch as well.

Also arguable, but almost every downside in known quarian history is the quarian's fault.

Ah yes, I knew of another who had no reason to betray Shepard until the Reaper threat was extinguished, or
close to failing.  They were working together to defeat the Reapers and Collectors; this friend literally performing a miracle and giving more support than any ally Shepard had before; sure, he had ulterior motives, but compared to the extinguish of all sentient life now and forever on, who would blame you for taking a lower path?  Alas, this friend has
fallen to the pen.  Legion does, however, want to build what amounts to a Geth Reaper; Shepard himself says so and Legion doesn't exactly deny it, though you must pardon me, I haven't replayed ME 2 for some time and I cannot give you the exact dialog.  Those actions you mentioned all endear Shepard to Legion, you see.  After all, how much human fiction exists of AI discovering love?  It's enough of an occurance for any AI to notice and, if it desired to, fake in order to maniuplate a human.  Very clever.

From the very beginning he was fully indoctrinated?

...I didn't say she was working with the SB, where on earth did you get that from?

*sighs* TIM has plenty of reason to betray Shepard even when they're working together to stop the Reapers.TIM's main goal is human dominance. He would want to hog top of the line alien tech as well as intel.

And no it's not a Reaper. They have no intention of bothering anything. They just want to upload themselves into one giant structure so they can communicate and understand far more. And again (how is telling Shep they plan on making their own Reaper manipulating him? Legion flat out says their plan.) Not to mention Legion plan to "fake" Love would've been better served by being far more suggestive with Shep.

From the beginning of ME1 I'd say he was pretty damn indoctrinated. Not as much as he is near the end but more than enough for Sovereign to be heavily suggesting what he should do.

TIM says that. It's a blatant and stupid lie. It's a lie just to lie.

He is merely deep in thought, thinking about how he will defeat the Reapers. Or subjugate them to our will. Then we can use the Reapers to subjugate all of the aliens to our will. For their own good.

And we will all wear tight catsuits and jumpsuits in this Cerberus dominated galaxy.

This is what happens when people can't see that it's a Grey vs Gray situation instead of  Black vs White, it's like 90% of the Forum is Garrus, but stupid instead of awesome.

No, if 90% of the forum was Garrus, we'd all be commenting on our differing reach (and flexibility), and calling each other impressive. Granted, it would be awesome.
Also, the mods would be performing calibrations. ALL. THE. TIME.

Or the Council would have declared war on the Quarians after stripping them from the Council.  But, then, you're looking at this with hindsight so we can't expect to come to the same conclusion when we have a vast amount of information on our hands.

And Shepard can share that sentiment and, in fact, gives TIM some of the higher up alien tech that he aquires from his companions.

That's what they say.  As I am so often reminded, we cannot simply look at what they say and instead look at their actions.  Geth
actions have been almost wholly negative. Giving Legion the benefit of
the doubt on these matters is really quite silly.  Shepard is asked to
help Legion deal with the heretics, and Legion attempts to instill a
sense of trust; it's some clear emotional manipulation.  Go more
suggestive?  Why would he do such a thing when
what he's doing is far more than adequete.  But if you prefer another
idea, perhaps it was the majority ruling; remember that Legion, as all
Geth, is not a single mind, but many.  For all we know, 51% are Tropers
who wanted to make him act the woobie.

Ah, but his "Work with the Reapers to save ourselves" idea must have been prior to extensive indoctrination.  Especially when his first thoughts are "Imma use this ship to bust some human skulls yo".

...which has what to do with what I said?

Like I said, I don't disagree.  I'm just saying what happened, well, happened.  It can't exactly be reversed.

The thing is, we really aren't given any reason to trust him outside his word and one action as a sniper (which just indicates he doesn't want to kill Shepard).  On the other hand, we have a mountain of evidence against the Geth.

Well, one is a terrorist and a compulsive liar.

The other is a psychopathic xenophobic murderer.

How is TIM a terrorist exactly?

I hate it how everyone (including BioWare themselves) are so eager to stick the label "terrorist" on Cerberus and everything that has to do with Cerberus without knowing what it truly means to be a terrorist.

Cerberus is a black ops organisation. They are NOT terrorists. They are NOTHING LIKE terrorists AT ALL.

I think people call him so because paragon Shep does. It is just a flashy way to say bad person who does bad things. Criminal is too weak and so is rogue black ops.

As of ME3, they are.
