As a recap for ME2, original players received only text describing what has happened in the previous game and what has been happening since, similar to Star Wars. Later, for PS3 players, a comic book introduction was given.  Regardless of what we say now the introduction won't change.  BUT, what are you expecting or hoping for?

Something which came to mind was sorta like how television shows do a recap of the prior season, maybe a montage of important scenes from ME1 and 2, with our created Shepard inserted in the reimagined cut-scenes.  For example, start of ME3, we create our Shepard or import an older Shepard, and then we are given a black screen which says "Previously on Mass Effect"... start seeing all the important parts of ME1 and 2 with our created or imported Shepard as the Shepard in the video, all the while music playing in the background.... my preference, "Carry On Wayward Son"... but that's for my first Shepard, which might not fit for a female Shepard. But you get what I'm saying.
