Where is it?...I mean the mass effect world is 100 years overdo. jk lol

i'm excited for ME3, but im worried it is going to be exactly like ME2.  Not, that ME2 was bad. I want to know if there will be more side quest?  More exploration? and more customazation?  Sorry, alot of these questions may have been answered, but I'm not a forum regular.
