I guess because Shepard (mine anyway in some respects) has experience with the reapers, a strong will, and willing to work with aliens that are some what essential to killing the collectors.

Interesting, but I think Shep needs a human sized antagonist, and TIM isn't really enough to do that. Kai would be better served as one of the game's badguys, Shep has enough team mates.

Um, yes and no. He didn't actually kill all of them. TIM nailed one. Also, he caught them totally unawares by sneaking up from behind while they were busy trying to kill TIM.
I believe Georilla is referring to the Turian guards on Omega, stationed outside Grayson's apartment. He did dispatch them himself, prior to leading a team in there to abduct Grayson. (and subsequently killing Aria's daughter)
