It would certainly be cool to play as your favorite squadmates in the multiplayer co-op, so maybe instead of just being skins you actually unlock the character themselves for multiplayer.
Who knows.

That's a terrible outlook. Its exactly why EA is despised.
Anyway, this is sad. Taking content out of games and selling them with ****ing figurines? It's sick.
CDPR, shine on you crazy diamond(s).

It probably wasn't ever in the game to begin with, but made expressly to be DLC. Not that it's less annoying that way, but don't just assume you'd have seen this stuff otherwise.

That as well. I'm not annoyed by it, but I imagine those who want every last little thing would be.

And millions of other have boycotted because of their business practises. But lets not get into that.

I imagine whatever items you'll get for purchasing them will be minor as hell because a very select few will have said items.
I wouldn't even be surprised if those items get released later as a free download or as part of another DLC pack.

There's always Ebay, to get the codes without the figures. I might do that to get the S1 codes, and the Origin Shotgun.Kileyan wrote...
If this DLC preorder action figure crap is really significant gameplay, quests and combat maps, I have have to admit I'll be a bit upset.
DR. Pepper was ok, but having to buy action figures to get an old favorite npc's quest or whatever is bad news. I would probably say to hell with buying this game if it is parceled out via game figures, early pre-orders, day one DLC's and such other sleezy sales.
S1 Codes?Did I miss something?

Unless they've found a way to turn getting the holy hell sued out of them profitable, probably not.

The previous two MEs were balanced just fine, despite DLC.
There are Gigabytes of content that don't make it to release, and yet they are made during the development window of the projects. They take time AND resources, and we never used to see them. What's wrong with selling that additional content that didn't quite make it, or even invest resources into creating more than one products?
If you are not happy with the amount of content in either of the products, retail or downloadable, don't buy them, or don't buy them for the full price. If I had considered that, I would have certainly not spent 50 Euros on ME1. That's 20 Euros too much for the content included in the disk.
No, it's amusing.It's sick.
Because someone for once mentions CDPR as paragons of morality, instead of Valve.

I get that they want to reward people who buy the CE and pre-order, but why make the pre-order stuff exclusive? And why have exclusive DLC for an action figure? You know Bioware, I didn't pre-order your game at Gamestop, and I didn't buy the CE. I just pre-ordered the game.
To be honest, from my point of view, it seems like you really don't give a **** about people like me, who just want the game. It's like everyone needs to be rewarded, except people who just buy the game at their nearest game retailer. We're still giving you our 60 bucks, remember?
What makes it worse, is that a lot of this stuff remains exclusive. The first few months, I'm cool with that, but two years after release, like with Mass Effect 2? Why!?

A lot? Yeah, if you consider one armor and one weapon "a lot". And no, I don't count the Collector gear: anyone can get that if they want to by buying the DDE, but even if you do count it, we're up to two armors and two weapons.

Bioware should seriously consider slowing down with all this DLC. The game is not even out yet, and there are already more than 10 different items to get, all from various places. What the hell is their problem?

Hell, you could argue that you're getting more than 60 bucks worth - you get two discs worth of content where most games only give you one. You're getting a campaign that could last you more than 30 hours when so many games nowadays seem content with giving the player a 5 or 6 hour campaign.

I just don't see the need for all this stuff to be exclusive to certain people (except for the CE content maybe). Just give away with pre-orders and let everyone else buy it on day one.

To release them for everyone would defeat the point. Especially items in the CE's.

I don't like exclusive items, but at least they're just items for multiplayer. I do think BioWare is insane with these bazillion pre-order and promotional items with their latest games (the Dragon Age games had a ridiculous amount of promotional items too).
