I don't see the point of releasing the Collectors Edition and then releasing the content of the Collectors edition.
 
It removes the point of the Collector's edition and ruins your own Collectors edition as in the end, it just becomes a expensive snazzy looking standard edition.

That's how i see it anyway.


I can understand releasing the CE content a VERY long time after the game comes out (Example: Black Ops releasing the exclusive Zombie maps 8 or 9 months after the game came out), since, well, everyone who does have the CE will have experienced the content to the fullest, and there's no real reason to keep it exclusive anymore.


Except that, you know, I paid for exclusivity.

Yeah, and you got it 8 months before everyone else.

Apparently they are going to be DLC for the multiplayer part of the game. They unlock either weapons, characters, boosters, or mods depending on the figure.

Hopefully buying Legion's figure isn't the only way to unlock the Geth in multiplayer...

And everyone should keep in mind that Diamond isn't shipping these new figures until April 26th, over a full month after the game comes out.

It still ruins the idea of 'Collectors Edition'. Atleast change the name to Limited Edition then with bonus early access to certain content.

This Collectors Edition is lie. It is nowhere near a 'Collectors Edition'.

This Collectors Edition is lie. It is nowhere near a 'Collectors Edition'.

Why?! You get all kinds of other extra stuff, remember? 

How does it make it less of a Collectors Edition, just because some of the ingame stuff gets released to the public after 8-10 months? You get to play around with your robot dog and Liara in her fancy costume 8 months before me, because you were willing to pay more money for the game. Seems pretty fair to me.

So to reiterate: it doesn't look like it is going to be alt outfits: they are tangible DLC that looks like its going to be affecting the gameplay of multiplayer.

Are you speaking to me? If so then yes, yes I do I have all the ME series content do far apart from the ME2 collector armour (because it's unrealistic) I want everything for ME3 and now thanks to these figs I have to spend MORE money.

I am willing to bet that these toy pre-order dlcs will be available later in some other multiplayer dlc pack. With the exception of Gamestop's preorder bonus and (rightfully so) the Collector's Edition weapons and armor, most of the promotional dlc for ME2 became available later.

It is very unlikely that EA is going to release DLC just for the few hundreds that buy the dolls.
It is probably going to be offered for seperate purchase as well.

If you got some OCD that compels you to get all the DLC, then yes I suppose it does. Multiplayer doesn't seem to be an intregal part of the game.

Like what exactly? Half a artbook which has a superior full version being released along with what 5-6 songs?

I cant begin to tell how much exclusive content dlc promotions upset me. A few preorder item dlc's I can understand because developers/publishers want sell as many copies as they can on day one, but to take content away from the fully priced final product just so corporate cows like EA can make more money off cross promotional content, phhff please. The game has not even gone gold yet so any extra content announced until then can and should very well damn be in the full priced final product.

To get the full story you do. Story dlc ain't free.

To get the full story, you'd have to buy the every game, every DLC, every comic, every novel, and probably spend time looking into wikipedia for every nuance of filling plotholes. I've yet to touch a mass effect comic, and never hit the ME1 DLC.

There's never a game/book/film universe telling the "full" story, just more of it.

Wow, more US exclusive promotional DLC. Would have thought after EA screwed everyone on the Dr. Pepper promotion they'd have learned a lesson, but that was stupid of me.

At least it's only MP stuff, which I largely don't care about. Still, I like to feel I have the "complete" package, silly as it may be

You can only get the figures in the US? I'd imagine they can ship them anywhere.

I'm using a local comic book store which is ordering in a couple for me. You could probably do the same in another country. You'll just probably have to do the same as me: apparently they come 10 to a box so you'll have to find some other people who might want to buy the figures as well.
