I don't care what your opinion - calling yourself a REAL fan because you have a different opinion to another gamer is just flat out arrogant and wrong.

If the people who took issue weren't real fans, they would have packed up and left a long time ago.

And all that ^ up there is fact.

What did Wrex say in ME1? "Anything that isn't constantly challenged grows weak."

Criticism is going to help the developers improve. If we just lapped up whatever they gave us, they'd never know it if they were putting out mediocre sub standard products.

Constructive criticism is a necessity on these forums.

And to be honest?

We should thank Bioware for accepting all the criticism they've received on DA2 as they could've easily ignored most if not all of it.

Indeed. I have a good feeling about DA3 precisely because I believe the developers do listen to constructive feedback. I would virtual highfive you if I could Prince.

Honest to God though, if I can't feel the need to thank Bioware for DA3, I'm giving up on the franchise.

I would thank them anyway merely because it is DA and will no doubt progress the lore. This is known as Fanboyosis.

If that is the case I think you are destined to not like DA3 ^_^

Oh no, I can still like it.

I'll just assume whatever happened to cause a full scale mage-templar war happened off screen in between games.

Plus, destiny? Pfft.

I'm The Fateless One, I can choose my own Destiny.

OH WAIT-

Good luck on that one, DA3 will be based on the Mage & Templar conflict, plus Asunder will probably get mentionned a few times. Everything released so far in the franchise (books and etc) are canon, wether you like it or not.

I would like to thank Bioware as well for all there games even DA2 thought it was the best game of 2011. I want to give a big thank you to Mike Laidlaw for not giving up when alot of fans were asking for him to be fired ( which was messed up mind you) any ways thanks Mike I have faith in you to reunite all the DA fans. Its sad to see a divide among the fans.

I should've been clearer earlier. I'm going to pretend it happened, just not in any game/comic whatever have you.

I'm going to go in pretending the last thing I played was Awakening.

And yeah, its cold that some were asking for Bioware devs to be fired. That's NEVER okay.

DA2 might not of been a good game in someone's opinion, but there's a line that shouldn't be crossed when expressing that opinion.

I was literally shocked at some of the things that were being said around here. My jaw was floor.

Why is it that everytime we want to enjoy something, there's always a party pooper around?

Because DA 2 is one of the most, if not the most, disappointing games in years.  Whenever a thread is posted that talks about it being a good game, you can be sure there will be posts contradicting a positive statement.  People want to make sure that Bioware/EA knows DA 2 was several steps in the wrong direction.

STOP IT! We already know you people hate this game. But for the REAL fans like us who don't mind these flaws, it is quite insulting and embarassing to see people like you coming over and over, all to spit out your hatred every frigging time someone wants to say something positive about this game. Dragon Age II has its fans and has its anti-fans, I don't care if you hate it, but let the REAL fans love it peacefully and stop harassing us! You're a real pain in the ass. Geez!

Edit: Bioware seriously needs to hire more moderators...

.....excuse me? I didn't realize that people who disliked/hated DAII automatically weren't real fans of the franchise.

Just like being a friend doesn't require a person to do everything another person wants, being a fan doesn't require a person to like everything done in a game.

There are some good elements in DAII. But if I have to like every single thing done in DAII just so I can be a "REAL fan", then I'll gladly be a "fake" fan. I will not toss aside my dignity just so I can be considered a "REAL fan" in the eyes of other posters.

Honestly, I hope we DO get a sequel to DAO.

On the next gen consoles.

DAO2. Make it happen.

No no no no, the name must be DAO2.

Just so we're sure its a continuation of the original.

Plus, I'd love to call the next game, "Origins II".

There were indeed things that frustrated me about DAII, most of which have been beaten into the ground and hardly bear repeating, as I'm pretty sure the message has been received. But I still enjoyed the story, the lore, the character progression, the artistic differentiation of races into more unique creatures instead of so closely human...

There are a lot of things I love about both games. There are a lot of things that I don't. But rather than throw the baby out with the bathwater, my purpose was to thank Bioware for all of the things they did right in giving those of us who liked it hundreds of hours of enjoyment with DAII and probably thousands when you add in time spent with Origins and Awakenings. It's a great series and a great world, and I for one absolutely hope the devs continue to experiment and evolve the franchise, to expand on a story that stretches a few millenia back to the Magisters of old, Andraste, Maferath, Shartan, through the events of Origins, Awakenings, the upcoming movie, and DAII, and into the future that's evolving in the books, comics, and DA3.

I played DAII quite a bit, and the more I played, the more I found to enjoy and debate. I loved thinking about how Anders going to the Circle at 12 influenced his viewpoint going into Awakenings/DAII in contrast to mages like the Warden or Jowan who went to the Circle at 4 or 5. I loved pondering how magic, mana, templar abilities, lyrium, and the Fade are connected. I loved thinking about who Thrask's wife was, or why and how Jethann became a ****, or whether it's better to send blood mages to the Circle or kill them outright. I loved thinking about why Varric became a storyteller, given the hints in the codex entries.

Origins and Awakenings also had a plethora of awesome content that fed beautifully into DAII.  I loved thinking about Alistair and Zevran's opposing transformations as the story in Origins progressed, and wondering about how Kristoff's memories along with Justice's alien viewpoint shaped Anders' outlook and (lack of) mental stability. I loved debating the right and wrong of the Chantry, and whether templars are victims or villains or perhaps both...

Do I like recycled environments and junk and not being able to equip my party members? Did I like the fact that Act III was rushed and parts of it made very little sense (I'm looking at you, Orsino...) Of course not. But in spite of those failings, I feel there is a great story and a great cast, a broadening of the Thedan universe and immense possibility going forward.

Not everyone has to share my view, and many don't. And that's ok. I loved Origins, I loved Awakenings, I loved DAII, and I can't wait for more great content!

I installed the game recently, getting ready for a possible run of BioWare games this year, and I admit I felt a little tinge of excitement when firing it up to mess with all the settings.

I bet that means I like the game, even with all the suppuration.

Ewwww. Why'd you make me look that up!
