Well, thank you for DA:O in any event, as one of the greatest and most in-depth executions of the standard Bioware formula (and I say that in a complete positive way) since BG2. My heart may belong to Mass Effect and KotOR II, but that's because I'm a sci-fi junkie to the core.
DA2...I have to go.
We'll talk later.
I should go.
I will be going now.

Three whole posts in a DA2 forum thread without whining, new record?
That might have been remotely funny if we hadn't had that "I hate you Bioware" joke thread in the past where there was page after page of no DA2 bashing/whining.

I agree with you, OP. Except on the DA2 bits

It most certainly does. Bioware has heard every possible criticism of DA2 multiple times already, so anything anyone says now is redundant. I don't care if people complain, but attempting to justifying it by claiming bioware needs to hear it is just annoying.Shevy_001 wrote...

You should view this thread like a DA2 character would about something:
Either be vehemently opposed to it and turn to blood magic in response, or be over the top in your support of it and irritate everyone around you by preaching about it.
*cough*

But yeah, I have a lot to thank BioWare for re. DA2. It was my entry into the Dragon Age universe, and I loved it immediately - I then went back and played Origins, and Awakening, and loved them too, and I'm now a huge fan of the whole world, the characters, everything. I can't wait for future content.

I agree with op, in part. As I've done many times before, thank you again, Bioware, for Dragon Age Origins!

Indeed. Much love for the setting. DA:O is my favorite pc rpg. Unfortunately, i was let down by DA2. Still, the setting is fantastic and i have been soaking up every bit of info i could find from the very first time the announced they were working on their own, brand new game with a new setting. Which was right after NWN 1 was released.
I hold out a lot of of hope that DA3 will bridge the gap between what is so great about DA:O and what i felt were a lot of problems in DA2.
Hopefully in the next few months we will get some info. Probably end of March i would guess....

And I find some of you "detractors" hijacking another thread like this and shutting out those who happen to like the game, the banhammer will be brought down. Hard.

No it doesn't. Not until there's clear evidence that shows they have been listening to all of the complaints. Bioware has only addressed the minor complaints: recycled areas and paratrooping waves.
While bad, they aren't priorities. They have yet to address the worst of them all: Hawke being a reactive/inactive idjit.
I would rather have a well-fleshed out story with a great protagonist -- one that I can make my character and not be pidgeonholed into playing Bioware's character all the time -- that takes action where needed and suffer from some combat errors in development, then have good/great combat at the expense of the story and protagonist.
And until they demonstrate in a DLC a moment where Hawke can take a believable course action in the hopes of preventing something from happening -- even if he fails to actually succeed, he'd still be proactive. A proactive person that failed to succeed -- or until they have him demonstrate some semblance of actual intelligence for a situation -- like maybe manipulating some political figures -- then they aren't listening.
As of now, it seems that they're giving more points to those who liked DAII. I don't think I've seen a single DAII fan that hasn't said "the only things I didn't like were the recycled maps and the paratrooping enemies".
They can say they're listening. Mike Laidlaw has even gone on record to say believable choices and appropriate consequences are important. But personally, I can't and I won't believe that they're listening to the fans until the bigger complaints get addressed in a DAII DLC or Expansion.
Actions speak louder than words after all. To that end, I will continue to constructively echo why DAII disappointed me -- in appropriate threads where what was liked and disliked comes up, like this one -- until a DAII DLC shows me and the other people that have made the same complaints I have made that Bioware is indeed listening.
=============================================================================
Also, as I forgot to say this in my first post in here: To the OP, I'm glad you liked DAII. I didn't -- as my above post probably makes evident
I did however enjoy DAO and Awakening.
EDIT: bolded a few words.

Thanks for the love, katiebour (and others)! It's a game that I happen to like a lot, myself. Sure, i could, like some of your detractors here, point out what I didn't like about the game, but you took the time and effort to make a rather generous post of support and joy, and for that, I thank you.
