I guess Kaidan is the best bet at the moment! But it seems like a lose-lose situation no matter who they pick.

Sure. There is sooooo much time to be spent out of combat. We should be seeing more shots from conversations, locations, downtime, etc.

Combat is not the only appeal to this game, despite what the vast majority of screenshots are saying.

We used to get multiple shots on the Normandy because that stuff was important too.

Oh I agree that combat is not the only appeal of this series.  And in many ways the stuff outside of combat is more interesting but in terms of what you can actualy market.  Combat is easier to market.  You can't market too much non combat stuff without giving away spoilers.

Almost no drop off between PC and console?  Is that a joke?  Witcher 2 on consoles won't look anywhere near as spectacular as it does on a high end PC.

Well you can see some of it in the James Vega featurette that came out  a couple of days ago.  To be honest though I want to wait until I actualy have the game and then explore the Normandy then..

Yeah, I know, but those video bits don't have the quality of those hq screenshots.

At this point I'd be happy with screenshots with bits of characters, like: "this is a screenshot of Grunt's eyes, Thane's hand, a piece of Kasumi's hood, Kelly's hair, Conrad Verner's smile and as requested...Miranda's ass."

Considering Mass Effect is responsible for some of my most beloved memories or drama, lore, and expansive foreign scenery, I have to say there is a ton of stuff to market that isn't combat. Movies and games do it all the time. BioWare used to do it. Marketing things outside of combat =/= spoilers. Trailers have been done well for decades without relying on action being involved and without being spoilers.

You can market most non-combat stuff without spoilers if you are interested in marketing it. My best memories of Mass Effect aren't of battles even if that is an aspect of the game I enjoy. The stuff that touches me is when I get to stare out at a strange place, look down the hall of the Normandy, see aliens conversing under beautiful neon lights in sleek locations. Not just the scenes of stuff that has been blown up, damaged, or requires shots to be fired from Shepard's gun (which looks like it fires standard bullets now instead of the older colored shots).

I'm pretty happy with the marketing being rather conservative so far - To much of ME 2 was revealed before release.
