Apparently it's just MP dlc, so it shouldn't be a big deal, at least from my view.

Weapons? /care. New characters? Me wanna, but I won't buy figurines just to have a random DLC.

Yes because it is the developers who makes the decision to have these kinds of DLC..

Read the article guys, you just get bonus DLC content (probably a single outfit) with each figurine.

^This. For all we know they may wind up selling whatever insignificant dlc it is the normal way but just provide people who buy the figurines a free way to access it. Just another example of BSN jumping to conclusions, althouhg it has been about half an hour since we had that, so we were certainly overdue.

This product contains a code that can be redeemed for a downloadable
content pack for Mass Effect 3 multi-player. It is slightly randomized
during the registration and could include powerful new weapons and new
characters.
The pack could also include character boosters, weapon
modifications, and weapon upgrades to make your multi-player squad
stronger. (Only supported on XBox360 and PC.)

New Characters?  I hope that's not the case, or that's just ridiculous.  And it's random so you don't know what you're getting lol.  One person could get a weapon, another a character.

If it's a new character, then it's going to be for multiplayer, because a new squad member would be sold on it's own.

I somehow doubt that any of it will be substantial. If it is, it'll likely be released as normal DLC because they'd be losing tons of profit by pooring resources into a sizeable DLC that they wouldn't be selling.

This, a million times this. Bioware would have to be wearing their pants on their head to have anything beyond a weapon and apperance pack DLCs tied to this. And we already got a fair number of weapon/armor DLCs inculded with preorder or avaible for free.

It's extra tat, not Lair of the shadow broker.

edit: Willing to bet the new characters are just MP characters or reskins of MP characters, which will almost certainly be avaible online soon enough after launch.

I'm not planning on playing (much) multiplayer, so no skin of my nose. Though if they're like normal Bioware DLC weapons, they'll probably screw up the balance a fair bit, which I'd have thought if anything matters more in multiplayer.

Okay, this is getting a little out of hand EA/Bioware.

Good thing it's only for MP though.

I highly doubt it will be important DLC. Like someone said, it's probably just alternate appearance skins and MP skins.

Besides, anything important or that would even slightly have the potential to be popular, will be available on the bioware store.

I think bioware may be learning from Skylanders

Most of this stuff is MP DLCs connect, new armor different weapons and different characters you get to give you a leg up in MP from day one of the servers opening. I have heard MP will open a few days after release of the game, will be a lot like BF3 and COD where you have to hunt around to find access codes to get bonus gear etc. Dr.Pepper promotion and the rare Jeep promotion. I wouldn't worry to much about it, I'm sure Bioware will release the codes at a later date or someone will have the up for grabs to loyal Bioware Fans,(hint hint Chris Priestly and Stanley Woo)

Eh personally I dislike this, but I will wait until bioware says something and "explain" what this DLC is about. Hopefully mention something about buying it separated for 2 bucks or something.

Looking again, there things don't ship until April/May it says. They'll probably have gotten their money selling the stuff already day 1 or soon after by then. Then they'll be getting money for the figurines on the back end too because people didn't know they could have just purchased the DLC for less than the figurine.

As far as I can see, we don't know enough about how exactly this is going to go down in order to crucify anyone.
If it's exclusive weapons they are going to put in there, it's really bad IMO but I can live without a bunch of them, given that the list of weapons we get is already pretty long (see the weapon list thread).

If it's characters, I really can't imagine them making a bunch of character dlcs, just for the figures, especially if the dlc is "slightly randomized" (as it says in the article) and you wouldn't even know what you are buying. That would be a disaster and people would go nuts over it (and rightly so).
I don't think BW will do this. Either this is wrong info or the character they are talking about s the one we already get with the CE or it will be available as a single download sooner rather then later. At least that is what makes sense to me. Let' wait and see what an official announcement will say. Until then, I'll refrain from judgement.

I love how people here seem to think that Bioware is both fiendishly evil and pants on head stupid, it's obviously MP and maybe weapon DLC, neither of which are even remotely needed for the full single player experience, considering all of the weapons (DLC and otherwise) are transferring over from ME2 and we get preorder bonus weapons, we're freaking drowning in weapons as it is.

Obviously, due to the randomization, you'll get four copies of the same DLC per pack.

I'm getting so tired of people claiming a game is ''incomplete'' without appearance pack X or custom weapon Y. It borders on the obsessive.

I'm certainly not going to lie awake for one second being afraid that I'm going to miss a reskinned shotgun.

Hey, is the DLC announced here EXCLUSIVE to the statues? Or is it just something you get if you buy a statue, and you can also pay like two dollars to download it online? I think y'all are raging about nothing.

Which wouldn't be much of a surprise, you babies.
