Companies don't make a game, and then take things out to sell later. They make the game, and then make things specifically to sell later.

Neither of those are necessarily correct.  They would most likely develop them simultaneously.  For example, half of the files for the ME3 bonus CE character will most likely already be on the disc, waiting for the core 2Mb file to be downloaded and string them together (quite common).

Watch out, pretty soon they'll institute a feature where you buy DLC automatically like Xbox Live renewals with no opt out save for deleting your debit card number.

But the point is that they wouldn't be there at all without DLC.

This is bull****... I can't believe it. I thought Gears of War 3 had brought the whole DLC deal to a new low level, but this is the worst thing game developers and publishers can do to their fans and customers. Things like this are the reason that leads people into the dark side... of piracy. Well done BioWare and EA.

Simple, rent the game, and if you see that your $60 alone isnt going buy you a fulfilling gaming experience, Then just don't buy the game. I mean come on people, look at Biowares track record lately, i'm pretty sure that ME3 should be rented and tested first, not pre-ordered... Just sayin'.

Engineers were present in Halo: CE's code and that game had no DLC.  Just saying

Yeah, selling toys is just the end of the world, isn't it? How could they?

It's not the DLC that they are sellin for 200 some dollars but the figures. You don't pay 6 or 7 bucks for a toy at McDonald's you pay for the happy meal.

It's all Multi-player related.

What's the big deal then?

I love how you all blame BioWare, even though this kind of stuff is more EA's fault. Besides, chances are none of the added stuff will be gamebreakingly awesome or important. Besides, for all anyone knows this dlc will be avaialable stand alone later.

But Engineers weren't in Halo until ODST. That means they were cut from Halo, and because there was no way to provide DLC for the Xbox at that time, they never made it in until several games later.

So, I must be wrong because I don't like the fact that I must buy a stupid toy -I'm not interested with- to get access to content that could've very well been included into the original game in the first place? Ok

I disagree.  Day 1 DLC could easily be in the game if DLC itself didn't exist - they would just work on the game an extra few weeks and then release it.

So does Bioware... Wasn't Shale taken out of DAO and then made to pay extra for later?

No PS3 and NA only? That seems counterproductive.

For reference, does anyone actually believe that whatever dlc is attached to the figurines WON'T eventually be released seperately? Face it, EA knows a lot of people won't buy the figure just to get the dlc, so they'll probably release it, eventually.

They're toys!! you are paying (or not paying in my case) $20 for the toys and you get the DLC free. you'll probably get it for $2 later on. Plenty of studios have done this, it's nothing new

You HAVE to buy a toy? It's required? Nope. Not really.

Also, do you have some information that no one else does? That this is exclusive DLC only available through the purchase of these toys? Didn't think so.

Unless your objection is literally that DLC exists at all. In which case I have no sympathy at all. Things cost money. If you want them, buy them. If you don't, don't.
